Eve of my Interview

Gentle Hearts:

             My life has become quite interesting! I love it!  I love my new life here in Oxford! with a passion  Tomorrow is my Big Day!  Tomorrow I have a job intervie at the NHS Professional Building for a clerical assistant job at one of the hospitals here! I am all set for it.  I have just polished my shoes and briefcase and I am all mentally ready.   Today I went to the Library across the road to return the King Arthur DVD that I borrowed and I read about a position for Library Assistant on Saturdays!  I’ve applied for it as well!

Here is a list of all my duties at my last employement and a list of my qualities and capabilities.

I am completely confidant that I am well qualified for any position of the clerical kind.

Duties at the West New York Library

• supervised the children’s room

 

 

• Organised and hosted Story Hour for children five years-old–11-year olds

 

 

• Organised and hosted a monthly arts & Craft session

 

 

• Conducted Library tours for students and talked about the different library events available to the public.

 

 

• Designed a monthly calendar of library events

 

 

• Chose and screened the weekly Friday movies at the children’s department

 

 

• Help the public find their materials and referred them to the correct department that satisfied their querries

 

 

• Worked with the aquisitions librarian to order material for the Children’s Department

 

 

• Shelved books

 

 

• Issue and return all library books

 

 

• Issue and input library application cards into the OPAC system

 

 

• Dealt directly with the public meeting the heavy circulation needs of townpeople

 

 

• Helped public use the Internet and other library facilities

 

What is your strengths?

My biggest strength I have is the ability to learn quickly and think creatively. I am very methodical and observant and I possess an enormous creative ability that allows me to be quick-thinking and resorceful. When I come across a challenging situation I work through it head on and when I run into problems I can use my creative imagination to assess the situation at hand, improvise and get the job done in another resourceful way. I also possess incredible writing sense of resilience that gets me through any situation unscathed. One of my greatest abilities is my ease of writing. I am fluent in both English and Spanish and I enjoy writing poetry and other creative writing.
