Easter Bunny Adventure…

We took little man to visit ‘ol EB, yesterday. It was such an ordeal at first…

I ended up alone all morning (again), waiting on everyone else to get home to do something. I hate that!!! I feel like everyone gets done working for the week, makes plans without me, and I’m still at home doing exactly what I do all week – desperate for someone to spend time with! It drives me insane!!! Matt had to put in some hours (as I mentioned) because he got a little behind with all the meetings he had to attend while in Charlotte, and I don’t fault him for that. It’s just that I’d napped Luke & got myself ready in preparation for him to come home at 1, and then he told me he had to keep working. I tried to think of something to do, but my mom was gone, and I couldn’t go to my Grandma’s because she was with my mom. Anything else seemed like too much of an ordeal to get home & ready to see the Easter Bunny as soon as Matt was finished, so I just took Luke up to my bed with me and we lounged while we waited for Matt to come home.

Only…..

Matt called to say he couldn’t find the key to his mom’s car (which he was supposed to be driving home). Wonderful. As I recalled, he noticed it sitting in the cup holder on the way to the airport Monday morning, so I assumed that’s where it was. So now I had to load Luke in the car, make a pointless drive back & forth, and then he’d be way way overdue for a nap and we’d never make it to the mall. I put him in the car and……the key was no where to be found. I started searching high & low and getting so pissed off at the day….UGH. It was so aggravating. I finally found it UNDER the driver’s seat of our car. No idea.

So I drove the key to Matt & turned around to drive home. Luke fell asleep. Fantastic. I knew he wouldn’t take a real nap when he got home. When we got back to the house, though, he acted like his 20 minute cat nap was enough for him, and he was in high spirits. We decided to chance it – put him in his Easter outfit and drive out to the Galleria. That we did…

We got in line….which didn’t seem like it was very long, but the old ladies
working the camera were VERY diligent about getting each kid to smile
(even the brand new infants who aren’t capable of smiling…hello!). So it
took us at least 30 minutes….maybe more like 40. He’s making this face
because he saw me take the camera out lol

He got really anxious waiting in his stroller so we had to take turns holding
him….this kid is getting so ridiculously heavy! He was entertained by all of
the little kids running around near us.

Awesome. I look all of about 12 years old.

Here’s EB’s set up, pretty springy!

Giant Easter Eggs!

You can barely see it but there are little fake birds clipped in the tree
(you can see an orange one in the middle-left) and Luke was pointing and
chirping at them – so cute!

When we got close enough to see the Easter Bunny, Luke got really
excited. I kept trying to take a video, but he’d stop squealing as soon as I
got it going (of course). He was waving at him, babbling about him, squealing
at him and smiling. He was sooo excited – which surprised us! He didn’t
give a crap about Santa when we waited in line in December!

We sat him with the bunny….and suddenly he was a little concerned. He
was all about him….but when he noticed us baking away and leaving him
alone with the bunny he got really worried….his bottom lip started quivering.
You could tell that he WANTED to be happy about it so he really held it
together…it was so sweet how strong he was trying to be. (And, his pants
were totally riding up so his socks were out of control lol)

The ladies kept squeaking this bear at him, and after a while it got him
smiling!

There’s my sweet boy 🙂

And the professional! It turned out really nice, I think!

When we got home I wanted to get him out of his clothes so I could get
them washed & ready for next weekend and I just had to get a picture of
his shirt and tie. He looks sooo handsome dressed up, just like his Daddy 🙂

RYN: WOW! I guess mine would seem like less compared to yours! Is that pretty average in your area? Even my Dad pays more than that, and he’s had a perfect driving record for over 35 years! I think his is around $1K. Must be a big difference between Canada and the US! Mine is less compared to most of the people my age, at least. Luke’s easter outfit looks adorable! I love the picture with the pants riding up and you can see so much of his cute socks! He’s pretty brave sitting all handsome with that bunny. Even I’m a little irked by it, haha. I’ve never seen an easter bunny in a mall before! Neat idea.
