cleaning & a cute kid
This is the first time in a loooong time that I’m up before Luke.
I was able to start a load of laundry, brush my teeth, grab a cup of coffee, and check my email in peace.
I find it sooo relaxing to have my day start that way than jumping right into mommy duty. I love mommy duty….but it’s nice to have "me duty" for a short time, first. If it was reasonable to get up before him, I would make an effort to everyday. Eventually. For now I enjoy spending time with my husband in the evenings more than getting up at 5am.
Today is looking like another dismal day. I guess I shouldn’t say it like that – yesterday was gorgeous. But it wouldn’t be Buffalo if a gorgeous day wasn’t followed by a gloomy one! It’s for the best, probably. I have to stay in and clean our rooms so I don’t need the sun tempting me to go play. I have A LOT to do to get our rooms nice and sparkly for Matt’s arrival home, tomorrow.
Yesterday turned out to be a really fun day. We went to Panera, Carters & Old Navy with Lynne & Monalisa…came home for a nap that didn’t really happen, went to Mal’s for dinner with her and Cheri, and then came home to watch New Moon (again) with Cassie (lovah cassie). I expected the afternoon & evening to be terrible. Matt was off at his World Cup thing in Charlotte, my mom & tim were at the Sabres game, and I knew my sister had plans (but didn’t know I was invited at first). I thought I’d be alone and bored and mopey, and it was quite the opposite. It was just what I needed to feel charged up to clean like crazy today!
It’s never easy cleaning our rooms with Luke. He’s usually getting into things as fast as I can clean them up. I had him in my room for 2 minutes the other day so I could change, and he manged to dump a box of tampons everywhere and spill baking soda all over the floor. (Matt keeps baking soda near the fish tank for adjusting the ph or something?) Yeah. Total mess. It’s like 10 times as bad when I try to make him stay in there with me to get some cleaning done.
Speaking of my little monster…..I hear him waking up. More later.
Back!
Slowly making progress today. On load #2 of laundry and got started on my room. I always wonder how fast I could get things done if I wasn’t chasing Luke around and taking things away from him while I do them lol. Will I ever know what that’s like again? Probably not, and that’s okay. At least I get to sneak a kiss on his chubby cheek every time I have to pause.
Luke is just falling asleep for nap #1 and I had to pause to eat & upload pictures from yesterday. I took pictures for Matt, but since I had plans all evening I never got around to sending them. Apparently I have 1800 pictures on my camera. LoL…think I should delete some? I’m sooo bad about that. I cannot bring myself to delete any of the pictures from Luke’s birth or his first days home. And I still have the first picture this camera ever took (on my birthday in 2008). It’s not even a good picture, I just have a ridiculous attachment to it. I know, I’m a weirdo. I just have this irrational fear of losing a picture forever as soon as I delete it. Even though, they are all uploaded to my computer, as well as snapfish, photobucket, and usually facebook – AND everything from my pregnancy test through the first 4 months of Luke’s life is already scrapbooked. AND I have them all saved on an external hard drive. I still can’t part with them!! I have a ridiculously huge memory card – and I have filled it up more often than I can remember. Sometimes I have to delete some just so I can take more, but it’s not often that I actually have some I’m comfortable deleting.
Anyway….enough about that…
Here are pictures from yesterday, including lunch at Panera, dinner at Mal’s & our pictures for Daddy:
I love that her kitty is sharing her lunch with her lol
Little man was a big fan of that mac & cheese! He ate the whole thing…and then the yogurt….and then the milk….lol
After dinner at Aunt Mals…..he looks stuffed! lol
I love that silly boy <3
He’s looking like, who said it was okay for Aunt Cheri to hold me?? lol
We tried getting a picture of all of us….and failed.
And then I took a nap on Cheri’s shoulder
And then my head floated away from my body.
Luke has started protesting Matt’s absence.
cheeeeeese
That Aunt Mallory is hilarious!!!
This seriously cracks me up, because it’s the exact face I gave everyone when I was a kid.
Like even as a toddler I thought everyone was an idiot lol I seriously need to dig up my preschool picture to show you!!
Blow Daddy a kiss!!
Okay, back to cleaning! Unless I find my preschool picture, I can’t resist coming back to share 🙂
