Pirates v Ninjas

Oh I’m exhausted. I would very much like to lay in bed right now and watch a movie. Alas, the only TV is in a community room so I’ll likely just lay in bed and read a book because I’m awesome like that.

It took me forever to get up and get going today. I still haven’t really gotten a whole lot of sleep so I’m in mild zombie mode.** I hung out at the Starbucks in Chapters (I think that’s what it’s called? It’s a bookstore akin to Borders) and chatted with the edmowrimos while trying to continue upping my word count (so far I’m at 16,282) then I walked over to… this place. I can’t remember what the heck it was called. But they were doing swing dancing lessons followed by a dance.

The dance is actually still going on; it doesn’t end for another hour, but I’m freaking beat so I left early. It was fun meeting new people and learning some new dance moves. It was also fun feeling the different styles each guy had when he leads. There were some guys that looked totally confident, but they couldn’t lead for shit because of their spaghetti arms. And others looked like wallflowers but were incredibly easy to follow. A lot of the people there seemed to be regulars so I felt like one of the few trying to remember everyone’s names. They in turn decided that my name was L.A. As in, "Hey LA! Get on your feet! Let’s dance!" when I was sitting on the sidelines exhausted and trying to let my feet have a break. It was fun, but I definitely need better shoes the next time I try such a venture.

Okay. I’m going to go hang out with my room sans internet. Woe is me!

**Speaking of zombies! I was stuck in my NaNo today during a word war so there was a pirate vs ninja fight and in the middle of it a zombie joined in. The pirate and ninja went back to fighting as soon as they defeated the zombie and then the war was over so I haven’t yet figured out who won the battle. You tell me. Pirates or ninjas?!
