How could you be so Dr Evil?

I totally love the Fray’s cover of Heartless. I don’t know what it is about it, but I totally dig it. Unfortunately Shazam never recognizes the song so I rarely remember to download when I get home. But today, in a stroke of genius, I remembered that you no longer need a wifi connection on the iPhone to download songs. *ner* So now I groove to it, white-girl style.

****

That was written earlier and was the into to some wildly fascinating entry. Unfortunately, I was distracted and no longer have even the faintest idea what I was going to say. I’ll give you a moment to mourn the loss of my geniusified words. *****silence*****

Okay, so… What to write about? Meh. I don’t really know. I’ve had some pretty interesting things going on recently. Like I wanted to post some pictures from a Deaf even that I attended on Friday. I met this really cool guy and we signed for hours. He’s from Michigan and moved out to Cali about two years ago. The weather in Michigan was just too much for him to handle and he was getting sick all the time. Now that he’s in LA he’s determined to never leave. And he loves seafood. He was telling me about the best way to prepare lobster, but I can’t remember all the steps so I won’t even attempt to describe the process. He goes to a Deaf church in the valley so I’m going to check it out next week. He goes to the 8:30 service which is like KILLER, but whatevs. It’s another chance to be immersed in Deaf culture so I’m all over it.

This is totally random, but a really funny moment from this weekend’s family BBQ just popped into my head. I was wearing flipflops and my little cousin saw the tattoo on my foot. Her interest was piqued and she asked me a bunch of questions about it. Then like an hour later she noticed that I had another one on my wrist. She said in her most emphatic 7-year-old voice, "You stubborn girl! You have two!!" I laughed and was like, "Nope, I have three" and flashed her my third tattoo on my other wrist. I have no idea why but this absolutely floored her.

When she gets a little older I’ll tell her of my love of needles. hahahaha One of my favorite quotes ever comes from this guy Alex that used to work at my gym. It’s a tiny little neighborhood gym so in the evenings it’s totally dead and he’d come talk to me while I was on the treadmill. One night we were talking about the fact that he’s pre-med at UCLA and he was talking about the fact that he’s a phlebotomist. This of course led me to tell him of my fondness for pain and he said, "Beautiful! We’re a match made in dysfunction."

…O Tannenbaum just started playing on shuffle. Weird.

I’m in such a weird mood right now. I think my brain is set on random right now. Have an email that I’m trying and failing to write because my mind just keeps wandering. It’s quite annoying how distractable I am.

"Let me show you the way love’s supposed to be." I totally love this song. The next song that iTunes decided to play was Let Me Love You by Mario. I don’t really know much about his music save for this song, but I became an insta-fan when he was on Punk’d. I can’t remember exactly what it was except that it involved an old woman and boobs (disturbing, I know). What stands out was his character. I just remember an accute lack of douchebagishness in his behaviour even though people were deliberately trying to piss him off and that’s something that I find infinitely admirable.

Okay, enough rambling for me.

If you like the Fray’s cover of Heartless, you MUST go to itunes and download Kris Allen (From Idol)’s version. Its amazing. He had a moment with it last week and it propelled him into the finals. I can’t stop listening to it.

Match made in dysfunction — I love it! And I love your random thinking.

Let me love you is still one of my most favorite songs ever…and I have no idea why. You should come to the Ink N Iron tattoo convention on the Queen Mary June 6-8 I think.

RYN: Dinosaurs was amazing! I’m glad someone else remembers the show! I think it came on at 8:30p.m. on TGIF?

June 3, 2009

ryn – thanks for the encouraging words. your cousin sounds cute 🙂

RYN: I shall never Twitter. You know what’s funny about Twitter? No kids actually use it. It’s for egotistical middle-aged people who think the world will be engrossed to know that they had corn flakes and bananas for breakfast. I prefer to have more control over my ego tripping 😉

RYN: I can’t call you middle-aged because then I would be ancient, being born in an entirely different decade and all 😉 I remember when I was in my early late twenties…Those were the days.

I think your boobs would look epic on my wall
