Addiction
In my MySpace heyday I was a survey junkie. I sorta miss them. Just a little.
What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?
I finally got to meet ilikepi314! It was a short, but fun trip.
Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions and will you make more next year?
I resolved to do 50 hours of community service and I can’t for the life of me find the sheet that I was using to keep track of my hours at the beginning of the year, but I think I made it. And if I didn’t, then I got damn close. I also resolved to get over GirlX. It took the whole damn year, but I finally did it.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, but my cousin (who’s like a sister) is giving birth in a week. Holy shit… a week!!
Did anyone close to you die?
There were deaths this year, but no one in my inner circle.
What countries did you visit?
There are still no stamps in my passport. Bummer.
What States did you visit?
Louisiana in March (work had our conference in New Orleans), Nevada a week later (met up with an OpenDiary friend in Vegas) and New York over the summer (wanted to say “Goodbye Love” to Rent and see Eden Espinosa playing the role of Maureen).
What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A boyfriend? God, that sounds so pathetic. I made the mistake of asking a Magic 8 Ball if I would be single for the entirety of 2009. It replied, “It is decidedly so.” The little bastard.
What date from 2008 will remain etched in your mind, and why?
September 10. It’s when I found Wombat on MySpace and resparked a friendship that I thought had died ten years ago.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Not giving up.
What was your biggest failure?
Getting back with GirlX for a month over the summer. But I think I needed it. I needed to see she would never change. Making that mistake and re-establishing contact with Wombat are what helped me to fall out of love with her.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
On November 3rd I proved to the world how graceful I am by tripping over a flat surface and rolling my ankle. It STILL FREAKING HURTS, but at least now I can walk without the aid of crutches.
What was the best thing you bought?
My iPhone. I’m completely in love with it.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I’d have to say getting back in contact with Wombat. We’re so much closer now than we were in high school and his friendship has meant a lot, especially at a time when so many people have disappeared.
What song will always remind you of 2008?
Lips Of An Angel by Hinder
Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder?
Much, much happier. This time last year I was straddling the line between hating GirlX and forgiving her. I spent the last few days of the year at her apartment and it was really hard. I was in a very bad place.
Thinner or Fatter?
Thinner *woot* ((but not thin enough of course))
Richer or Poorer?
I’ve always been broke and probably always will be broke, even if I win the lottery. I suck at handling money. If I ever get married (ha!), my husband will have to be in charge of the checkbook. Otherwise we’re screwed.
What do you wish you’d done more of?
Right now, there’s nothing I can think of that I wish I had done differently. Everything that I did was the way I needed to do it. I mean, it wasn’t a perfect year by any means. But 2007 was the hardest year of my life. It was pure hell. 2008 was spent recovering, so I forgive myself for the things that fell by the wayside. I did what I needed to do to heal.
What do you wish you’d done less of?
I do wish I’d spent less time crying over GirlX, but like I said: I did what I needed to do.
What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in 2008?
Having someone show up to my door unexpectedly when my apartment was a wreck and I was dressed in leopard print feety pajamas. (yes, yes you read that right)
How many one night stands in 2008?
I plead the fifth. I was rebounding, okay?? =P
What was your favorite television program?
How I Met Your Mother, most def. But I finally started to get back into Grey’s Anatomy (thanks to the very hot Sara Ramirez and the man for whom I would forsake all others, Jeffrey Dean Morgan)
What was the best book you read?
I read Blindness just a few months before the movie was released in the theaters. I actually had no idea that it was being developed as a motion picture when I began reading it and after I finished the book I couldn’t imagine that it would translate well to film.
What did you want and get?
I wanted to go back to New York and my wish was granted!
What did you want and not get?
I wanted things to work out with Cowboy, but we were both rebounding when we met so that was a pipe dream.
What was your favorite film of the year?
Dark Knight!! It was more than just a movie, it was an experience. (at least in Hollywood… I don’t know what kind of hubbub was made in other parts of the country)
How did you spend your birthday, and how old were you?
My birthday did not go as planned. Let’s leave it at that.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If I’d been able to wave a magic wand and get rid of all the drama I was going through, that would’ve been awesome. But I’m okay closing the 2008 chapter just as it is.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept of 2008?
Nonexistant
What political issue stirred you the most?</em>
PROPOSITION 8!! I am still appalled that it passed, but I know it’ll be overturned. Give it time.
Who did you miss?
I really missed my friend… uhhmm…. R. (he needs a nickname) In ’07 he sort of disappeared. He started telling people these stories that no one believes and just went a little crazy. I miss him like crazy, but I don’t have time to deal with people who are going to lie to me. I’ve told him specifically things that he’s done that hurt me and damaged our friendship and if he would just be straight with me I’d forgive him in an instant. But he dodges questions and tells outright lies. I don’t know where the guy I loved went, but I don’t know this person and I don’t want him as a friend. I miss who he used to be, though.
Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008.
The only person I’ll ever be able to depend on is me, so it’s about damn time I started putting that person FIRST.
If you could sum up 2008 in three words, what would they be?
I’m moving on
Sorry your birthday didn’t go as planned. That’s a shame.

hI! Well I started out doing Plus Fashion modeling so I had some contacts through that. I’m also on a few sites like Deviant Art and Modelmayhem.com that are good ways of finding people who are looking for models. I also contacted a painter that I was a huge fan of and convinced him to use me as a model. And then he used me like 4 more times!! lol
