The Countdown Begins…

I am very very very excited because on Monday I will be headed out for my first-ever business trip. Woohoo!!! I’ll be getting into Chicago on Monday and leave for home again on Sunday. Because Monday was reserved as a travel day I have no meetings to attend. Once I get there I am on my own. And since my flight arrives at 4 I’ll have time to do some exploring that night. I’m sure I’ll be tired, but the youthful adrenaline will be too overpowering for me to want to rest (I hope). I found a theater less than a mile from my hotel that will be holding a free performance at 7:30. I figure that gives just enough time to get to the hotel, freshen up and head out again. Camera….gotta take a camera!

I can’t believe I’m going. This is just crazy. My company is hosting a conference so I have to be dressed in very professional clothes next week. My boss comes to work in jeans, sandals and a t-shirt so my work attire has taken a cue from her. We’re very laid back. Therefore, I had to go buy some conference-worthy outfits last night. Boy, can I spend money!! Five hours after my shopping adventure began I was $400 in the hole. But I sure love these clothes!!

I don’t know what I should be bringing back as souvenirs. I’m not much of a traveler. Any suggestions??

Get something really weird that will freak people out the first time they see it- anything unusual that you don’t see at home. That’s what i’ve always looked for. Something like a stuffed dog with fiber optics that change colors in its eyes wearing a shirt that says “I Love Chicago” 🙂 Well, hope you enjoy your trip!

thanks. i’m glad at least one person who’s gone through it knows about it. i am really surprised i walked away from it. i’m still here to tell the story too. did u get a new car yet? please tell me about your accident, that is, if you don’t mind. it must be horrifying for you as much as it is for me. good luck.

Enjoy your trip! Spending money is alot of fun. When you say “High intensity cardio”, what do you mean? Every workout I do, I end it with 30 minutes on the treadmill, at 4.6 miles per hour (it is a pretty fast walk). I have a hard time actually RUNNING because it really hurts my knees, and I don’t want to get injured. The machine says I burn 320 calories. Is that considered high intensity?
