Why not

Things have been going well lately. A few weeks back I had found out through my younger cousin that my Mom might have cancer. She didn’t want to tell me anything until after the biopsy but I found out anyway. She had a mammogram done, and they found a lump. She had the biopsy the following week, and I’m happy to say it wasn’t! I was in a weird funk for a few days because coming up in June will be the 10 year anniversary of when I found my Dad dead, and when that stuff happened with Mom, I was worried there was a possibility I could end up without parents at 26 years old. Dad died at 49, and Mom just had her 46th birthday. Way too young. Hopefully this woke her up though, and she makes some lifestyle changes for the better. I’m just happy she doesn’t have it though.

I also started a new workout and diet. I needed it. I put on quite a bit of weight, and I’m tired of being single. To fix one, you pretty much have to fix the other right? Lol. It’s called DDPYoga. DDP is a former wrestler, and he developed this program to help extend athletes careers several years, and I’ve read nothing but good about it. It’s cardio, conditioning, strength, and flexibility. No impact though. No running, climbing, or lifting. Plus it’s only 3 days a week with an optional workout on Sundays. Can’t complain! Yesterday was my first workout, and even though they start you off slow, and it was only 20 minutes or so, I was definitely done when it was over. Haha. Can’t wait to really get into it and get rolling though.

I’m also going to Vegas tomorrow! Just for the weekend, a friend of a friend is getting married Saturday night, so a few of us are tagging along with her and making a weekend out of it. Should be fun! We’re staying at Bally’s on the Strip, and going to the X Burlesque and Excalibur shows. The only show I had been to prior to this was a comedy show down in old Vegas, so it should be nice. This will be my 5th time in Sin City, I love that town.. 🙂
