D’OH!

Dang… I was really putting it all out there in that last entry.  LOL  I just finished re-reading my rant from earlier in the week, and I gotta say that I’m pretty thankful for having this little corner of OD to come and rant and rave in.  Now I look at that last entry and I just laugh at my silly irritations.  Don’t get me wrong… I’m still really leery of what this Christmas season has in store for us, but I can see that my reaction to the situation is a little over the top too.  Good thing that I can write it all out and not really take it out on the people that would have taken the brunt of my irritation.

Yesterday when I got home from work, the phone rang and I saw that it was MIL calling.  *ignore call*  Twenty minutes later she is calling again.  *sigh*  I answered the phone to see what she wanted.  Turns out that she was calling to see if I minded having our Christmas Eve dinner and present opening at Nana’s house this year.  Mind???  HECK NO I DON’T MIND!  That’s probably the BEST idea that you’ve had in oh… since I’ve known you!  Good job, MIL!

And I love Nana.  She is blunt.  She is honest.  She’s not afraid to tell you where to go or how it is.  This is EXACLTY where this family needs to be spending Christmas this year!  I’ve gotta say… I’ve gone from dreading this coming holiday to looking forward to it with the anticipation of the fireworks that are to come.  LMAO

Hmmm… Is bi-polar disorder contagious?  Because based on my change of moods/mind about this whole situation, I could assume that I have a touch of it.  Hahaha.

Shawn did IM me the other day to add to the drama that is Seth.  I don’t really feel like getting into it anymore than I already have, but at the time, what she told me had my blood boiling!

Things are going to be tight financially for Jacob and I for one more week, and then God willing we will be on track to pulling ourselves out of the rut that we’ve been hanging out in for the past few months.  They’ve changed the pay schedule here at my job, so I got paid on the 30th of last month and then the next time I get paid will be on the 20th.  From here on out, pay days will fall on the 20th and the 5th of each month.  That works out really well with the exception of having to wait the initial 3 weeks for my next check.  OY!

Work is going really well!  I’ve been told several times this week that I’m doing a great job, and that I’m being noticed when it comes to what I’m bringing to the table.  They like the way that I’ve been able to handle some tough situations that have come up.  AND my manager has noticed that more times than not, I have been the one to pick up the phone.  We actually went for a little stroll around the building yesterday morning and had a little chat.  She was very straight with me and came right out and asked if I felt that I was getting stuck answering the phones more than I should.  I in turn was honest an told her that I did in fact feel like I was grabbing the a hell of a lote more than Phyllis.  She agreed that I should make more of a point to not answer the phone to ensure that Phyllis get her share of calls in.  YAY!  I WIN!!!  LOL  I noticed that today she went for a little stroll with Phyllis too, so it seems that some things have probably been addressed.

Oh yeah… and THEN… AND THEN the guy that got charged the $500 in fees that shouldn’t have been charged to his account the other day ended up calling in today.  I got the phone when he called, so I get the pleasure of saving the day.  =)  The other day we gave him a 15% off coupon code to use on a future order, however 15% doesn’t really compensate for $90 in overdraft fees that occurred because of Phyllis’ mess up.  So he called in today to see what we were willing to do to rectify the situation.  My manager said that she didn’t know what else we could do, but I insisted that we had to do SOMETHING more for this guy.  At the same time, the VP of Marketing was walking by, so my manager had me tell him the situation.  He had me straight up ask the customer what he would like us to do to rectify the situation.  I don’t know why I needed to ask because to me the answer was pretty obvious, but I went ahead and asked him and he said of course that he wanted a $90 refund.  I told Mr. VP and he said, "We’ll send him a check!"  THANK YOU!!!  I was so happy to know that they were not going to be screwing this guy over simply because they didn’t want to go above and beyond what they would normally do in a refund situation.  The customer is a happy camper, and so am I.  =)

I’m almost finished with the greeting cards that I committed to doing for the stocking stuffing party we are doing on Monday night for Bible Study.  My first mass production will hopefully be a success, and I do believe that I learned the best process for doing a bunch of cards at once.  It was a learning experience, but I’m glad that I’m getting it out of the way because I’m planning on starting to sell cards in the next month or so.  Kind of exciting!

Well I’m gonna end this entry.  Time for a bathroom break!  I’ve decided that I’m going to make an effort to get a little more exercise during the work day, so that requires me to walk up to the second floor and then down the eternally long hallway to the restrooms.  Why don’t I use the first floor restrooms? you ask.  Well… there is an over abundance of women who work for the company that recently moved in to the office next door to us.  These women feel that it is necessary to stand in front of the mirror to apply layer after layer of make-up.  They have the bathroom smelling like a French whorehouse with the amount of perfume and hairspray that they wear.  It’s absolutely ridiculous!!!  So I am boycotting the first floor bathroom and getting some exercise because of it!  Thanks "French whore" neighbors!

Happy Friday!!!

Hello, it’s awesome that you’re doing so well at work and that you were the one who saved the day with the customer who’d been overcharged. That’s such good, good news! Good luck with your greeting cards, too!
