It’s Raining. It’s Pouring.
It is raining like crazy today! And I’m lovin’ it. Jacob went into work today, but since he doesn’t have an actual raincoat, they sent him home. We’ll have to figure something out for tomorrow because unlike his other job they do work in the rain at this one.
It’s been raining since late last night, and I don’t think that it’s stopped since. It’s supposed to rain until tomorrow and then it’ll be done. I know that back home it has been freezing cold, and they have actually already had snow. I gotta say that I’ll take rain any day. =) So far, I spent the day sleeping in with the window open so I could hear the rain. I could have probably slept all day if I wanted to. LOL Alas, I decided to get up and do pretty much a whole lot of nothing this afternoon. Jacob carved a pumpkin, and I took the seeds and roasted them in the oven. Mmmmmm!!! I LOVE FALL!!!! I watched last weeks episode of Biggest Loser on hulu. I really wish they wouldn’t delay the episodes by a week. It’s kinda frustrating. Oh well though. Lord knows I there are plenty of other shows that I watch online to pass the time.
I recently decided to start making handmade greeting cards. This last weekend, I went out and bought a few things that I could use to make cards, but I still need to get some good quality paper/cardstock. I’ve had a good reaction to the sample cards that I’ve made so far, and I’m seriously considering the possibility of selling my handmade paper crafts starting with the greeting cards and then moving on to other projects as well. I’d really love to get a Cricut Expression machine, but I think I’ll go ahead and start out with buying a Cuttlebug first. I have some big ideas running through my head, so we’ll have to see if this goes anywhere.
I had a phone interview yesterday afternoon for a CSR position in Campbell. Of course the phone interview went really well, and they gal that I spoke with said that she would have her assistant call me to set up a live interview. So far I haven’t gotten a call yet though, and I decided that if I don’t hear anything from her by tomorrow afternoon that I’ll go ahead and email or call to follow up. I’m doing my best to go in with the attitude that either way, it will be okay if I do or don’t get the job. And it will. It would just be an added bonus if I did get the position. Mainly I’m doing my best to not let the feelings of rejection bring me down like after the last great phone interview/live interview.
I just gotta mention that the Huskers did a great job last Thursday turning what had been a really bad game into a really awesome win. I will admit that in my frustration, I ended up leaving the sports bar early and heading home at the end of the 3rd quarter. Once I got home and logged onto facebook though, I was pleasantly surprised to see status updates of OH YEAH! and other such enthusiastic remarks from people that I knew were watching the game. As quickly as possible, I looked for the link to the on-air play by play streaming, only to find out that I was actually able to watch the end of the game on ESPN360.com. Heck yeah!!! We went home with the win!!!! And I learned my lesson to not give up on my team regardless of how bad things might seem. LOL GO BIG RED!
Well that’s all I’ve got. Happy Fall!!!

RYN: No stirring the pot there. I’m not a religious person so I don’t know all the details and I don’t mind being informed of them. I downloaded all the episodes, both seasons, from Mininova.

RYN: He’s just so damned descriptive, overly so. I like to get a visual on things, but I don’t need to know every detail about every object in an area where things are happening and that’s what it feels like when I’m reading King. He puts so much detail into every tiny thing that it distracts me from the actual story he’s supposed to be telling.

RYN: I know, right! The people who decide this must have gotten together and said ‘Oh look, Halloween is on a Saturday. That’s so convenient for both parents and children. Yup, sure is…better change it!’ lol Very lame indeed!

RYN: My best mile was about nine minutes, when I was younger and thinner (as I imagine your boyfriend is, given your age). At my advanced age, I have lots better things to do with nine minutes (or even seven minutes) than gasp and wheeze.
