I HATE when I forget to put a title here!

So my summer of goals/accountability is off to a great start.  I’ve been working out regularly for well over the 30 minute minimum that I set for myself.  I’ve been eating my breakfast each day.  Drinking my water. And last but not least going to bed at a decent time and up early, although I did miss my 5 day goal for that last week.  This week all goals will be met though.

I’m going to step up my workouts a bit now.  I’ve been focusing mainly on getting my cardio up and therefore spending my time on the treadmill for 40 minutes to an hour.  I’m at the point where I like being on for an hour.  I think what I’m going to do now is get up in the morning with Jacob, head down to the gym to do my cardio for an hour, and then when he gets home from work, head down again to do weight training every other day.  I know that I will burn way more calories if I start working with the weights.  Burn more calories, lose more weight!  I can feel my competitive side coming out more and more.  LOL  I want to be the one that looks noticeably different at the end of the summer.  I can’t wait!  Well… yeah I can.  Obviously I have a lot of work to do, but I’m up for it!

I have a phone interview tomorrow for a call center position with Comcast.  I know I refused a job with them at the beginning of my job search, however this is a bit different.  The first job that I turned down was only a temp job for maybe six months that was only going to pay $11.00/hour, part time.  I would have been making less than my unemployment benefits.  THIS position that I’m interviewing for tomorrow is direct hire, permanent.  It may still be part time (not sure about that yet), but it pays considerably more WITH benefits PLUS FREE cable and internet!!!  That in itself is worth about $150 a month!

I’m not going to get my hopes up simply because after each interview that goes well in my opinion I’ve only ended up feeling let down and rejected.  It is what it is and I have to keep moving forward until something comes out of my job search.  I’m noticing more and more jobs showing up in the postings, so I’m bound to find something one of these days.  I have until August.  I just pray that I get something before then so that I don’t become a complete stress case in the meantime.

I’m in the process of my annual summer rereading for the Twilight series.  I’ve read Twilight for the 4th or 5th time now, and reading New Moon for the 3rd or 4th time, Eclipse for the 3rd  time, and Breaking Dawn for the 2nd time.  You know I’m glad that the movies are coming out and all, but at the same time I kind of wish that these books wouldn’t have become as popular as they are.  I want to be selfish and enjoy them without the backlash of being a Twilight fan.  It was so nice when I first read Twilight however many years ago and NOBODY knew what it was.  It was like an amazing little secret that I could enjoy.  But now there are all of these insane fanatics out there that give other people who enjoy the story a bad name so to say.  I saw a few clips of these teeny bopper girls watching the trailer for New Moon on YouTube.  I wanted to reach through my computer screen and smack the heck out of them for being so overly dramatic and over the top.  It’s just a flippin’ MOVIE for crying out loud.  Get over it!

Okay… end of pointless rant.  LOL

It’s a bit grey and overcast out today.  It’s making me sleepy.  And I already used today as one of sleep in days, so there’s no reason why I should be sleepy.  Today is also a break day from working out.  I decided to set a schedule of working out 3 days, off one day and so on.  Soon I’m going to have to start going up into the hills and hiking in an effort to get ready for the backpacking trip.  It’s still over 3 and a half months away, but I’m dreading it already.

Well I’m bored, so I think I’ll try and figure out something creative to do today.  Or maybe I’ll just put Heroes up on Netflix and finish watching the first season.  Yeah… I JUST started watching that show a couple of weeks ago.  LOVE IT!

Those are really good goals. I’m glad you’re sticking with it. Did you weigh or measure yourself before you started?? I hope you end up getting that job. That’s a great deal with the free cable.

Beware of workout obsession. Do 60 minutes but don’t let it become two or three hours. That actually gets UNHEALTHY. If I tried to walk on a treadmill for an hour I’d go stark staring mad. Even my 30 minute walk/run around the gym track is boring. And why would there be a “backlash” if you like the Twilight novels?

RYN: That’s exactly how I feel about it. Twitter is basically the same idea as the MySpace status thing and I enough trouble coming up with things to say on there lol Seriously, who thinks they’re interesting enough that anyone wants to know what they’re doing every hour or so. Really?

RYN: I need to get to the gym in the morning three times a week and do my 30 minute walk/run and 36 sets on strength training machines all at once. No way would I go back later. Of course, I’m nearly 65, so I lack your youthful vigor.

ryn: lol, i don’t think the airports really count! everyone should experience chicago at least once! screw new york, the chi is where its AT!

RYN: I might entertain by WRITING about my yard work, but a video of me DOING it would induce nausea and shock.

RYN: I’d agree about sharing a christening with six other families, but I’ve never been to a Catholic christening with fewer.

RYN: Yes, it is a small world!! haha. Yep, thats the one they went to!! so crazy!

ryn: there was just too much in the last book for them to do it in one movie, so they’re splitting it up into two. i think maybe they should have done the same thing with this one.
