To Scrap or Not to Scrap

My  entry from yesterday is now set to private.  It was purely a venting entry, so to anybody that read it, no I’m not throwing in the towel.  As soon as he got home yesterday I straight up told him that there is no need to regulate me the way that he did.  I think by then he had already realized and thought about his mistake, so he told me that it wasn’t an issue and wouldn’t happen again… that I was free to do as I please.  I think it helped when I asked him how he would feel if I did the same to him.  So, yes, yesterday was just one of those days where I was pissed off, and now I’m over it.  That’s that.

I really don’t have much to write about.  Guess when you don’t have a job and not much goes on in your life, there leaves a lack of writing material.  I am working on a new digital scrapbook over at scrapblog that I’ll come back and post when I’m finished.  My creative side kicked in yesterday, and I’m hoping to finish it this afternoon.

You know… I’d really love to start a business doing scrapbooks for people that don’t have the time or patience to do them on their own.  I know there’s a market for it because I’ve already done some research.  If I built up a client base I could make some decent money doing scrapbooking on the side.  And living in one of the richest valleys in the country is a pretty good setting for building a client base.  The problem is that I do most  all of my scrapbooking online.  I haven’t done much any scrapbooking that involves buying actual materials.  I’m sure it’s not that much different in way of page design, and I have a strong feeling that my pages would be quite amazing.  I walked into a scrapbook store the other day, and was so overwhelmed that I walked out 30 minutes later with nothing but my brain doing flips in my head trying to get a grasp on it all.  LOL

I don’t know if I’ll ever follow through with this idea.  It may be one of those things that I think/dream about doing but never do.  But making anywhere from $50-$150 per hour sounds like a good motivation to put together a "portfolio".

I’ll come back and post some of the online books that I’ve done later.  Anyone who happens to see them, do me a favor and tell me if you think I have what it takes to make a go of this type of business.  You can also look at my diary front page which I designed and tell me what you think.

I archive lots of documents by putting them in sheet protectors and then into notebooks, but the rigamarole of cutting, pasting and decorating with ribbons and cute captions is not for me. My daughter-in-law loves scrapbooking. I guess it’s a girl thing.

ryn: yippie!!!! i love initiating new mooreons! that means coyote blue is next. it’s great too. you know, i love demonkeeping and blue, but i never recommend them first because he was obviously still cutting his teeth as far as writing goes, but even at his most amatuer (which is harsh and not accurate) he’s still awesome. EVERY one of his books has those lines that make you almost peeyour pants laughing, lol. anyway, i’m glad you enjoyed and hope you’ll let me know what you think of them as you go along!

ryn: well you’ll be happy to know then that Lust Lizard and Stupidest Angel both also take place in Pine Cove
