Doodle Bug
I have been in one of my artwork kicks over the past few weeks. I’ve been finding myself drawing pictures whenever I get the chance. It started off one day when I was staring mindlessly at the Looney Tunes desktop wallpaper I had put up for Thanksgiving. I started doodling on a post-it note and before I knew it I had drawn each of the characters on their own separate post-it note.
I have a hard cover art book here at home that I’ve been drawing in over the past couple of years. I haven’t gotten very far in it (especially considering one of my new year goals last year was to draw a picture a day in the book… pshha… that really happened. LOL). Anywho… So after I drew the Looney Tunes Thanksgiving at work, I drew the whole scene from memory in my art book when I got home one day. Turned out pretty good.
From there I started drawing Cinderella. Since it is at this point my favorite all time Disney movie and I watch it still to this day, I figured why not. I drew out my version of the DVD cover in the art book, and now I have been going through and drawing each of the characters. I still need to draw the king, the grand duke, and the prince, and then I’ll be done for the most part. Oh yeah… and I can’t forget to draw the horse and Bruno the dog.
In addition to the stuff I’ve been drawing in the art book, I’ve continued to doodle on post-it notes while I’m at work. One day I had one in my purse when I went to teach ESL to Mirielle, so I showed it to her. She thought it was great, so I let her keep it. Since then I’ve given her the Thanksgiving post-its and one other that she seems to love. Well, one day she asked if I could draw her. I figured why not. I’ve drawn portraits of random people out of magazines that have turned out rather well. I should be able to draw Mirielle based off of a photo.
So I did. I did a practice picture on a post-it note while I was at work one day. It turned out okay, but I decided that since it was actually a picture of Mirielle and not just a doodle that I would do it on a larger scale. So tonight, I drew the picture of her and Noam (not sure if that’s how you spell her name, pronounced NO-om). This is the picture that I was using as a visual:
And here is the finished product:
Not bad right? I’m sure I’ll tweak some things here and there, but I was pleasantly surprised when all was said and done. Sometimes I surprise myself. LOL
Speaking of surprises, I got a not so pleasant one tonight when I got off of work. Jacob’s mom, sister, brother, sister-in-law, and their four kids are going to be here this weekend. His mom will probably stay at his aunt’s house, but the rest of them are supposedly going to be camping out in our living room. Real fun. I probably wouldn’t mind if I would have had more than 3 days notice. And if I didn’t already have other plans that I will probably now have to break because of it. *sigh* Whatever.
It’s officially Jacob’s birthday right now. He’s 26. Heh… I scheduled a dentist appointment for him for today. LOL How nice am I? *insert evil laugh* Nah… I love him. We are getting along rather well right now. We better be though considering the last fight we had. It was marriage ending by most people’s standards. Goes to show how abnormal we are I guess. Or stubborn to say the least. I’m finding that Ephesians Ch. 4 really sticks in my head right now whenever I find myself getting the least bit irritated. That and having daily talks with God…asking for the strength and patience to not fly off the handle… the devotion needed to stay close to the Lord. When you’re close to God, you can’t really help but be tolerant of a lot of things that you wouldn’t be tolerant of when your back is turned to Him.
Well… I suppose. It’s about that time. Gonna put in a movie and head off to bed. Good night!

You draw far better that I can! I can do landscapes and abstract type stuff. But people? Not in a million years!
