Happy Festivus For The Rest of Us!

Anybody remember that episode of Seinfeld?  It just randomly popped into my head when I was thinking of a title for my entry.  LOL

I am happy to report that today is a good day.  I very good day indeed.  Not only is it Friday, BUT I was once again very VERY pleasantly surprised when I looked at my bank account earlier today.  Instead of seeing the negative balance that was to be expected, I was greated by a balance of $450+.  My account was overdrawn a bit because otherwise it would have been more.  BUT I did receive my share of the $600 tax rebate from a friendly government.  Whoopdi-frickin-doo I tell ya!  =)

Jacob’s rebate hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m hoping that will be coming to us in the next few days.  HOWEVER I’m not going to count on it at this point.  It’s always better to be surprised with money when you are least expecting it.  He will however be getting a check in the mail on Monday, and then we both get paid on at the end of next week.  We are sitting pretty folks.  All loans have the possibility of being paid off completely, but I know for a fact that 3 of them are going to be paid this week.  I’ll talk to Jacob and see if he wants to just go all out and pay all 5 of them off and be done with it.  I think that will definitely be in our best interest.  That will still leave us with some fun/happy money to play with after the bills are completely paid off too.  Yes, folks, it is a good day indeed!

We had a staff meeting this afternoon at work.  Lani’s last day here at work is going to be August 5th.  She is going to be having the baby soon after and won’t be back to work until January.  While she is gone, a multitude of the tasks that she does daily/weekly/monthly were delegated out to the rest of us.  I’m happy to say that I’m very pleased with how things have now been assigned.  I personally only had one additional task added to my monthly agenda.  I will now be assisting with copying payroll and handing out the production reports to our examiners.

Rosie got a couple of other things added to her agenda, and Shannon now has to keep track of these stupid little forms that we will be filling out whenever an examiner blocks time in their schedule.  She also is going to be responsible for mail EVERYDAY, AND she has to have the no-stat report completed BEFORE 1:30!!!  LOL  Pretty much nobody reading this will really know what all this means, BUT I know that it means that Shannon is now going to be held accountable for doing a hell of a lot more work than she does right now.  No more sitting around and only doing the bare minimum.  So HA!

I sit right by the windows here at the office, and there is this bird that has been jumping up on the ledge all day today and pecking at the windows.  LOL  It’s quite funny actually.  It obviously sees it’s reflection, and is trying to peck at that "other bird".  Heh… it keeps me entertained.

I went and bought Keri a replacement of the book that I left in Nebraska today.  Now I’ll be able to finish it.  LOL  I was going to get "The Last Lecture", but now I’m second guessing if I really want to read it.  I glanced at it today.  We didn’t have much time when we were at Barnes and Noble though, so maybe I’ll go back after work and check it out again.  I think I’d rather buy a copy of The Host by Stephanie Meyer.  =)

Even though we have this money, I kind of want to keep it a secret from Jacob.  Act like it’s not really there.  Of course that would entail me acting like we are absolutely broke which I’m not too sure I can pull off.  I’m never good at keeping secrets about money.  LOL  Maybe I’ll just hide some of it away in the savings account.  Jacob has no concept of how much money we spend when we have it.  To him he’ll be thinking that he’s spent $100 when in actuality he’s probably spent more like $250.  He can make it difficult when it comes to our finances.  *sigh*  He’s such a guy!

*BLEH*  So I just told him about the mula.  I’m sure it will bite me in the ass later, but whatever.  He has this thing where he goes and spends $3.50/hour to play a stupid ass army game with a bunch of gamer losers at this internet cafe place.  That place is seriously the bane of my existance and I wish that it would blow up.  He seriously has spent enough money at that place to where we could have actually bought a computer for our house by now.  Of course he doesn’t want to see it that way.  It’s all about instant gratification when it comes to him.  I don’t see that there is much that I can do about it.  It doesn’t help to argue with him about it.  It usually just makes matters worse.  I’d have better luck running through a brick wall then ever getting him to realise the error of his ways.  Ehh… guess I gotta just pick my battles.

Well… I’m off… to do something else completely pointless right now… not sure what, but it’s sure to be pointless.  Anything to pass the time.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Laters,
JamieLynn  =)

P.S.  Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommies out there!

I am on the list to read The Host by Stephenie Meyer (at the library!). I wasn’t about to spend $17 on it… hahahaha… Yeah, I’m cheap. BUT, in my defense, when a book is like $6 or so, I will buy it, read it, and then give it to the library. So see? I pay for my entertainment. Most of the time… 🙂 My hubby used to play this online game and “money” was $20 each time and he would want to getit ALL the time… like twice a week or more sometimes. Stupid gamers and their wastefulness! I could get a pedicure for what that costs! 🙂 hee hee YAY for sitting pretty though. I dont’ know if we are getting a stimulus check or not (because I owe a BUTT load of student loans), but… one can always hope! 🙂 Either way. It’s all good! 🙂

Ive bought The Host and so far I like it. But Im reading it slow.. I think tomorrow will be spent all day reading it. 🙂
