Is It Time to Go Home Yet?
OMG! I am so flippin’ tired! That’s what I get for staying up until 1:00 am reading a book. LOL And it doesn’t help that I just ate lunch and am all full now too. GAH! I just want to go home!
I haven’t done a damn thing all day. I had to meet with some of the people that are going to be taking over our positions at the end of this month. I think it’s so crazy that WE have to be the ones to tell them how things are done and train them. WTF!
Get this… the old position that I used to have is open again over at the other office. I found out about it last Thursday when I had gotten back to work. But here’s the thing… nobody actually volunteered to TELL me that the position was open again. An email had been sent, but keep in mind that it was buried in with 400+ emails that had been sent while I was away on my trip. I would have eventually gotten to it, but it would have been awhile before I did notice it.
The reason why I noticed, was due to the fact that I had asked my friend Dendra if there were any positions open at the office. That’s when she told me that my old position was open. Then come to find out that two of my current team members had already gone over to interview for the spot. And here’s the kicker… WhenI finally did find the email about the position, it stated that if we were interested in interviewing for the position that we had to let them know by the end of business last Tuesday. I WASN’T EVEN BACK FROM MY TRIP YET!
So I went and talked to my manager, and he told me that the deadline for that position was already passed. I told him that I wasn’t even here when the deadline was up, and he told me he would submit my resume just in case. Well the next day, Eric, the guy that I used to work with over there, IMed me and asked if I could come over for a quick interview that afternoon. They had decided to extend a "courtesy" interview to me. WTF. Okay whatever.
So I get over to the office, and get to talkin’ to Eric. I basically put it out there on the table for him… told him that obviously I would be a good or the best candidate for the job since I already knew how to do the work. I had been there before. In fact I TRAINED Eric! LOL I also mentioned that I already had a good rapport with the client… that before I had left to come over to my current position, I had the Chief of the Board over there extremely pleased with my work. And yada yada yada. I know I can’t expect them to just hand the job back to me, but at the same time, they pushed me to come over to this position. If I had never chosed to be here over the other office, I would never be in this predicament. So I guess we’ll see what happens. KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED FOR ME!
I’m also going back over for another interview tomorrow for a different position within the company. The position is a recruiter job where I find people to work for our company. How hard could that be?? I wouldn’t think it would take a lot to be able to do that. But the funny thing is… they say the job requires a BA. WHATEVER! At the same time, the job that I used to have over there supposedly required a BA. I obviously don’t have a BA, and I do the job just fine. Anywhooo… so I’m interviewing anyway for the recruiter position. Worst case scenario… I don’t get it… oh well I guess. But if I DO get it… I will get paid $55,000/year! OMG!!! I perked right up when I saw that pay rate. LOL So keep your fingers DOUBLE crossed for me on that job! Hopefully between one of the two jobs, I’ll get SOMETHING!
One last quick note before I go for the day… I’m slowly but surely getting a collection of pictures from the wedding, compiled and uploaded into an online album. So far, I have about 82 pictures uploaded. I may or may not post them here… I can’t decide yet. LOL I’m sure there are one or two that may want to see them.
My mom has another 200 or so on her camera. I’m thinking my aunt probably has some on her camera as well. Then there are the pictures that Desi took, not to mention 10 disposable cameras each full of pics. PLUS the pictures still from the PHOTOGRAPHER! I’m glad there are so many pictures to help us remember the day. We do so much planning and organizing for this special day of our lives, and with a blink of an eye, once that day is here it is over and done with. It is already going on TWO weeks since the wedding. I wish we could do JUST that day over again. It was so much FUN!
So for all of you planning brides… try try TRY your best not to stress out too much. Take each day that you plan and remember it the best that you can. And when that big day finally arrives… take a deap breath, sit back and relax, and do your best to take as much in about the day as possible. It will go by so fast and seem like just a blur when it is over.
With that said… I better quit neglecting my job and get to it. In all honesty… I can’t WAIT until this job is over. I’m ready to do something different… a change of environment at least. =)
Laters,
JamieLynn =)
