3 Day Weekend!

Yep yep yep.  I have a 3 day weekend in store!  YAY!  Well kind of I guess… I’m not going in to the office on Monday, but will be working from home at my own leisure… AND will be getting paid for it.  Can’t complain about that.

So what’s new here?  WELL for the most part… A WHOLE LOT OF NOTHIN’!!!  I’m still stressing on the wedding, but at the same time still not doing too much about it.  At this point there really isn’t all that much that I can do, due to the lack of funds until we get back on track with our paychecks.  But it is coming… soon I will be able to buckle down and get to work.

I did talk to Brittany (my maid of honor) the other night.  We did decide on the deadline of February 28th for the girls to have all of their measurements in as well as at least half their payments for their dresses.  So that is a step in the right direction as far as they go.  I need to strap Jacob down to a chair and figure out what type of tuxes he wants to have the guys wear.  At one point he had one picked out, but for some reason or other says now that he has changed his mind.

I’m planning on ordering some save the date magnets ASAP to send out to my extended family members to ensure that they know way ahead of time as to when the wedding is.  I would love to have as many people there to celebrate with us as possible.  I did come to the realization the other day, that I really don’t need to send out save the dates to ALL of my guests either.  Only those that would need to do a certain amount of planning beforehand.

I received a bill for the photographer the other day, and should probably make a payment on that soon.  Have to have the remaining $850+ paid for by June 8th which is 30 days before the wedding.  Luckily my videographer only requires that $350 of $750 total needs to be paid by July 1st and the remainder will be due once the video is ready..

I still haven’t decided on what I want to do for bouquets.  I have time to ponder on that one though, so will not place that at the top of my list.

Brittany was going to contact the gal she knows that makes wedding cakes and such to see how much she charges and if she would be available.  I’m waiting to hear back from her on that as well as on some caterers that are in our small town.  Hoping to get some good prices on this.  I need to call my friends mom and tell her that I want her to make me taco roll-ups for the wedding.  THEY ARE SO GOOD!!!  A good appetizer type food.  Everytime I come home to visit, she makes them for me!  =)

I have about $450 left that I need to pay for on my dress.  My friend has said in the past that she would love to help pay for my dress as her wedding gift to me.  Not much else has been mentioned about it though, so I’m not sure if that is in the works still or not.  If not… I need to get that paid for soon too.

My mom and step-dad tell me to let them know if I need help with anything.  I’m thinking I’m going to come into a crunch as far as the money for this all goes.  I really should just get over my pride and mention some things that I may need help with.  It’s just hard for me though I guess.  My dad has said the same thing about letting him know if I need help with anything.  Maybe I should go through my budgeter at theknot.com and see where I stand with all this.  Hopefully not much more money will need to go into this.

We did make a payment last weekend on my ring.  I think I mentioned it in my last entry.  I also mentioned something about the wedding band that I want to go with my ring.  That’s probably going to be another $700 after the discount that we get.  Good grief.  This wedding stuff seems to add up rather TOO quickly.  LET’S JUST ELOPE!

With that being said… now that I’ve written way too much about a whole lot of nothing.  I’m going to get back to what I was doing before…. NOTHING!  Have a great weekend to all that made it this far!  =)

Thanks for the note. I know exactly how you feel about wedding planning, and mine was VERY low-key. I was so ready to just get married in a courthouse with just us and a judge. I’m glad I didn’t though, and you will be too; all the hard work and stress does pay off and makes for great memories.
