Happy Easter
Last weekend went really well. I actually had fun when driving up north with Jacob’s Nana. We talked the whole way there. She is a really sweet lady… she just is a little feisty. =)
We made it up to Redding in record time. Not too much really happened though. Nothing so exciting and worth writing about. There is a bit of really disappointing news though. We found out last weekend that Nana has bone cancer. I had a feeling that something was wrong, but wasn’t sure what. Well Jacob told me on Sunday when they got back from moving everything into her new house from the moving truck. It’s really a sad time right now. She’s already had breast cancer once before, and now she has emphazima and bone cancer too. Please pray for her.
So… in an attempt to not end this on a sad note…
I got paid this week!!!! Woo Hoo!!!! We have been so broke ever since Jacob was laid off from his job. But at the same time, we are still doing well. We aren’t starving or anything… lol.
Unfortunately this check did not include my pay increase. I found out that my boss decided to wait until the last minute to put in the request for the increase, therefore I have to wait until my NEXT check for it to show up. Oh well I guess… I’ll still get paid retro-actively, meaning that since I was supposed to have actually gotten this raise back in December, I will be getting paid for all of the hours from December up until the raise actually was applied. =) So I’m still going to get my money… it just a matter of waiting. But I hate to wait!!! =(
We are going to be getting $400 from Ray (Jacob’s step-dad) too, for letting him stay with us until the beginning of May. I guess at that point, he is going to finally quit his job and move up north too. All I know is IF he decides that he’s not going to quit his job, he still has to find someplace else to stay. 1) He’s not even on our lease, and I don’t want to have to add him. 2) The apartment is just big enough for Jacob and me.
Don’t get me wrong… Ray is a great guy, and I hardly notice that he’s around, BUT I really want my OWN place with Jacob. I feel as though I’ve put my time in living with people, and now I’ve finally made it to a point to where we should have our own space. But at the same time… I’m not going to turn family away. I guess it’s just something that we will have to deal with when the time comes.
Luckily that $400 is going to help out when it comes to paying the rent and deposit that we still haven’t paid for next month. LOL We should finally be caught up then though. And we are going to extend our lease as soon as we pay the deposit off. I love where we live right now, and don’t want to chance the rent going up with the lease is up in May. So Jacob asked her if we could go ahead and sign another lease already, and she said yeah. This time we are going to sign a year’s lease. This 6 month lease is flying by like no other!!!!
Jacob is going to be putting new break pads on the truck hopefully within the next day or two. I think that we may actually need to get a new rotor for the left front side though which I know is going to cost way more than I want to think about. I guess we’ll just have to see.
Well…that’s pretty much all that’s been going on. Oh yeah… Jacob has an interview tonight, so keep your fingers crossed that he finally gets a job. Once he starts working again, we will be good to go. We are making it on my pay checks, but if he could just find a job we would be sitting fat!!! We didn’t realize how well off we were before until Jacob lost his job. I look forward to being that well off again real soon. This situation has proven to us though, that we can survive without spending so much money. Before when he was working, and we always had money, we didn’t worry about things, and we would spend whatever we wanted. Well now we realize that we can actually be saving so much more money if we wouldn’t spend it on stupid unnecessary stuff.
Oh well… you live and you learn.

I really like OD Plus. The fact that there are no pop-up ads are worth the price alone! RYN: abut my books. I have written a series of 6 children’s books about my 20 year old daughter’s guinea pig. You can see more about them on my Wesite at: http://www.yukitopia.com under the book button. If you want to view a book I can give you a link to one that is online. 🙂

Here’s a link to the first book. BTW – Hayley is my daughter and Nathan is her Canadian boyfriend. They met on the Internet, met for real, got Yuki, the guinea pig together while she was visiting him in Alberta. Yuki stayed in Canada with Nathan. Now they all live together in Regina where two of the three attend college. (Guess which two.) Now I sell the books on the Internet.

RYN: my motivation comes from knowing I have to look good for Bubba. I know he says he doesn’t care … but I still don’t think he deserves anything but the best … I don’t think I will be anywhere near that but I can at least try. =) I really do hate my body right now. = p I told him that.. he is so funny he said Don’t talk about my woman like that again, you need to go slap yourself.
