Finally… An Actual Update… =)

Hey y’all!!!!  Sorry to leave everyone hanging for so long.  I have been quite busy obviously, and have limited access to the internet right now.  I’ve actually started going to the library quite regularly, so hopefully my writing will increase and also become more regular.

I actually tried to write a couple of weeks ago, but for some reason the stupid computer didn’t save it.  So I guess I will be starting all over now.

As you all know by now, I am in Cali!!!!  And loving it!!!!   For the most part anyway.  LOL  I’m currently still looking for a job, but my prospects right now are looking really REALLY good.  I actually had an interview on Monday for a staffing company, and have been hired on there.  Now I just have to wait for my background check to go through, and for her to call me back with a job.  I’m really not too worried about it.

However I have another interview tomorrow for a company that has something to do with cell phones and pagers and wireless products, which I actually have experience with.  I don’t know if I’m exactly qualified for the job they are offering me though.  The guy said they are looking for someone who is able to take charge and be a leader.  I guess I can be that person if I put my mind to it.  =)  The great thing about that job is actually the fact that I would be making over $20/hour.  Can you imagine!?!?!?!?  When he told me the pay, I was basically speachless.  He actually told me that it would end up being $40,000/year.  OMG!!!  I’ve never made over $20,000.  LOL  That’s why I’m wondering if I’m even qualified for this position.  But I’m not going to pass up the oportunity to see either.

What if I actually get the job?  I guess we’ll wait and see.

Then I also have another interview on Friday for another placement company that called me with a job.  I would be calling people who have warranties on their Dell computers that are about to expire to see if they would be interested in renewing them.  I guess that job pays $15/hour, which for me is also a good thing.

I guess I’m just hoping to get anything that will pay me more than $10/hour.  Since I have Jacob to rely on now for money as well I’m sure that we would be able to survive on that much.  But I would definitely not mind making more than that.  I’m hoping for more than that anyway.  The company that actually hired me on and that I’m waiting to find out about work now also mentioned a few different jobs that she as available that she feels that I am qualified for.  A couple of them are working for Netflix.  You know… the internet DVD rental company.  The one job that she described to me sounded so easy it wasn’t even funny, and I believe she said that one would be making $11/hour.

So time will tell as far as my work situation goes.

Jacob is actually working right now.  His job is only a two week temporary thing, but it’s definitely money in our pocket.  He is making $10/hour and it sounds as if he will have a lot of overtime with this job too.  Yesterday he already worked 4 hours of overtime, and it was only the first day.

So this is the situation and how we ended up out here…

Come the end of last month, Shawn and Seth were being real assholes talking about they wanted us to be moved out before the end of the month even got there.  Which really pissed me off.  Jacob had been talking to his older sister, Sandra, off and on since for awhile, and she mentioned that she would let us stay with her until we could get on our feet.  So we thought about it.  At first I didn’t want to because I wasn’t sure about my whole ID situation yet, and whether or not I would be able to get it.  Then I also found out that my great-grandmother wasn’t doing too well and wasn’t expected to be with us much longer.  I told Jacob that I wouldn’t be able to move to California anyway with her being sick.

Well a few days later she passed away.  I also found out that they didn’t do warrent checks for duplicate ID’s.  So it was a go!!!  I was able to get a new ID with no hassle.  I wish I would have found that out earlier than I did, but oh well.  I got it now!!!  =)  We got bus tickets since it was the cheapest way to travel, and the next weekend we left, which was the 28th of August.

The trip here wasn’t too bad.  In fact we went through Las Vegas, where Jacob and I got off and stayed a night.  We had so much fun and packed so much stuff into that one day that we were there.  My feet were killing me by the time we got back on the bus the next night.  We gambled a little bit and just walked the strip, looking at all the different hotels.  We went to the Mirage where Sigfried and Roy have some of their animals.  It was so cool!!!  =)  We decided that in a few months we are going to go back so that we can spend more time there and not have to try to rush to do so much at once.  And by then we will have a little more money to spend as well.  =)

We finally got to San Jose which is where we live now.  It’s pretty nice here.  Really big!!!  Which I love.  I really missed the city.   We got here on a Tuesday in the afternoon, and that evening I got to meet Jacob’s dad.  He is so nice.  I really like him.  In fact he GAVE us a truck.  Granted it is an old truck, but it is still transportation for us so that we can get from place to place.  In fact I am growing quite fond of our little truck.  LOL  We could actually be considered serious candidates for that show Pimp My Ride.  LMAO

I also had to learn very quickly how to try a stick shift.  Not my favorite thing to try to do in a truck that is older than me and being in a city with a nice amount of traffic.  But I have it down now.  I’m even brave enough to take it on the freeway.  In fact we have been down to Santa Cruz on highway 17  (one of the most dangerous highways in the country) three times now.

We were here for a day and then Jacob’s mom wanted us to to come up to see her the next day.  LOL  So we got back on ANOTHER bus and met her in Sacramento.  She lives up by Redding which is about 4 hours from us.  We went and stayed with her and his little sister for a little over a week.  That was nice too.  I love his mom’s house.  For the most part I like all of his family.  Some of them do have their moments, but nothing that I can’t handle.

I’m always wanting to go to Santa Cruz so that we can go to the beach.  Jacob made a huge mistake by taking me there.  LOL  He has pretty much taught me how to bodyboard now.  It is SO MUCH FUN!!!!  And very addicting.  I definitely have the tan started now.  =)

So that’s pretty much it…  I think I’ve done a pretty good job on getting you caught up now.  I will TRY to be in contact with some of you as soon as I can.  I would really like to get my own cell phone once I get started working.  Right now we don’t have an actual house phone.  We have

to use Sandra’s cell phone for calls, so she isn’t always home with that.  But I will eventually get caught up with everyone.  I hope anyway.  I might just have to wing it… and start reading from where everyone is right now in their lives.  LOL

I’m glad to be back!!!  Hopefully now it will be for good.  =)

Until next time though…   LEAVE NOTES!!!!   LOL

Laters,
