Best/worst cartoons of old

Please note that by cartoons of old, i am referring to ones of the late 80s to mid 90s.  For some, those probably wont be your cartoons of old.  With that said, here are some of the best and worst cartoons of old.

Best List.

First off, Duck Tales.  Probably one of the most entertaining cartoons of its time.  Awesome catchy theme song.  I have written about Duck Tales in a previous entry, so i wont go into too much detail. (see my third entry).  Very good cartoon.

Batman the animated series.  As the show progressed and changed titles, it got kinda lame, but for the first few years, pure gold.  The stories were good, the animation was good.  Remember how exagerated his batmobile was, the front end was like 40 feet long.  Mark Hamil (star wars) did the Jokers voice, and Poison Ivy was a fox.  Random nerd fact: the show was drawn on black paper which is why all of its cartoons have a much more dark look and feel to them.

Darkwing Duck.  Also classic.  Launchpad from Ducktales appeared in it.  Pretty decent theme.  Good villains like that plant guy Bushroot, or the evil version of Darkwing, i cant remember what his name was. 

Xmen/Spiderman.  These two were staples of my childhood on the saturday morning line up.  Xmen being my personal favorite of the two.  It got me into the comics when i was a kid just so i could see what other cool adventures happened to them.  Loved Wolverine and Gambit just like every other kid.

Animaniacs.  This was an after school necessity.  Its now on dvd,which ive thought about checking out.  Pinky and the Brain were always good, as were the long songs that the warners would do.  I always liked good idea bad idea. 

Simpsons: the king of cartoons of old.  You cant beat the first ten seasons with the exception of seasone one, which blew.  Nothing will come close to the calibre of simpsons of old.  I wish Simpsons would make a comeback.  Maybe the movie will help.

Worst:

Some of these may surprise you, you may have even like them yourself.  But this is my entry, so i dub the following cartoons……….crap.

Goof troop:  Most kids loved it.  I hated it.  Why?  Even as a child i had no respect at all for homeys.  This show seemed to be a glorifed homey show.  Couldnt stand Goofys kid, his stupid catch phrases, and all the gay clothes he wore.  Damn you homeys.

Bonkers.  The cartoon with the cop cat.  Don’t think i found a single episode of this funny or entertaining.  His voice was annoying as hell.  Another crapolla.

Captain Planet.  I like this cartoon in the sense of making fun of it.  Especially Captain Planets mullet, and the african kid that unlike all the other kids with cool elements (fire, wind, etc) his power was heart.  He got the shaft when it came to choosing powers.

Tale Spin.  Again, i excpect some of you to think im crazy on this one.  Most loved this show as well.  But once again, this is my entry and i never really enjoyed watching it.  Didnt really care about the plane, didnt really care about the kid.  Belu was always pretty cool, as was the tiger guy.  But overall, the cartoon never held my attention for more then a minute.

Old Spiderman.  I can see this being a classic for many.  But i grew up more on the new one, and after going from the new to the old, the old one just didnt impress.  Even at the age of 10, i would still get angered over the fact that spiderman would websling in the middle of nowhere, his webbing attaching to what could only be clouds.  Of course, the show was made in the 60s, so im sure for its time it was incredible. 

Teddy Ruxpin.  Always thought this guy was a nerd.  I hated how he would have a talkshow thing at the end of his show, and i can still remember all the crappy ruxpin dolls you could buy, that would talk and junk.  Teddy Ruxpin was a weiner.

Obviously there are many more that i love, and many more that just plain suck, but this list has gone on long enough.  Perhaps you have some other cartoons that you liked or dislike.  Some that i forgot to mention include Bobbys world, Rescue Rangers, Gargoyles, Life with Louie, Megan Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario Brothers, Ninja turtles, GI Joe, Transformers, and many many more.  I welcome your comments.
