Happy Tax Day! LOL
Today my second graders had a lesson about government and I always take the role of tax collector. I reminded myself to take off the badge before going out in public (away from school) since the last time it happened this way I got dirty looks when I walked into the post office wearing that sticker! I didn’t plan it this way but I love when it happens.
As for JA it is going so wonderful this session. I love having the first graders all together but i hate having to separate them. It is easier for them to all work in their own seats and I can stand between the two doors and touch both of the doors so its not all bad but I hate having to do the transitions. This next week is going to be tricky with the maps but I have confidence in myself when it comes down to doing these things.
My third Graders are wonderful as usual with that teacher; they are a little loud sometimes but if it comes down to doing a JA day there I will stay with Tammy. That’s just the long and the short of it. They made their restaurants this week and I can’t wait to get the reviews started. I have so much fun doing them… I need to come up with some unique foods to put into some of their dishes just to get the laughter going. I really need to find a copy of "Superfudge" to give to the teacher and mark a certain chapter with in said book. If you know the book you will get this reference the teacher has decided to make a restaurant that just serves cake so I want to start the rumor that the teacher uses the "enriched" flour that the neighbor uses. Now lets see how many of you run out to check that reference!
One of my students who I’ve had since first grade brought me a panda today with her friend. It is so sweet! The little Panda has a place in one of the side pockets of my JA bag and I’m taking goofy photos of it all over the place. I"m going to write some captions for them and then I’m going to give the photos to the girls next monday.
PTA is going all right. We have managed to sell nearly 100 yearbooks already this year. I’m looking forward to seeing how they turn out this year. I really need to order smencils so we can sell them in two weeks. I should get on the ball and do that at some point tomorrow. It takes about a week for them to arrive. Then right after that week I’m going to be heading to the PTA conference in Indianapolis. I’m looking forward to a hotel stay and some great grown up conversations.
Not much else to report on. I went to the Vera Bradley Outlet sale five separate times this year. One time I went with one of my faves and then I saw she and her sister a second time and wanted to let them join us in line but we were already in trouble with the ushers and didn’t want to get tossed out or bumped further back in line. Such tattle tales behind us 🙁 I hate mean people!
So the question today is where were you when you heard about the bombing in Boston… I was in good old room 107 making cards when Jennifer Evans came in and asked if she was behind adn said that the Boston Marathon had been bombed. So sad. I didn’t find out a lot until I got out to my car and purposely turned on WOWO radio.
