We went to the ZOO!!!

I love the zoo. Since we live close to D.C. we get to go to the National Zoo and admission is FREE! Parking costs about $7, but that’s okay because as a present my hubby and I became FONZ (Friends Of National Zoo)! That means we get to park free, get admitance to special FONZ only activities, and get a discount in the shops! We got a 2 year membership too! We had such a good time…I love the zoo…the only zoo I would say is better is the St. Louis Zoo. There is free admission there and it’s built in a circular path, so all you have to do is pick an initial direction and go…there is also a train there…The National Zoo is not finished yet…someday it will be circular, and may even have a train, but for now, you start at one end and then backtrack and see the whole zoo again! Which is nice for some exhibits because sometimes the animal is asleep the first time you walk by it…I’m tired though….

Today’s Grateful Thoughts….

1. I am grateful for free admission to the zoo so I can go when ever I want

2. I am grateful for my hubby who loves me enough to walk the zoo with me even though he really didn’t want too

3. I am grateful for the cute “thank you for becoming a FONZ” stuffed panda

4. I am grateful for the black footed ferret breeding program (they were down to only 18 left in the whole world and thanks to the program they might be saved!

5. I am thankful for places like zoos to help me remember that there is a whole lot more out there.

I went to a zoo back in the early 80’s…they had animals at that one too. I think the zebras were upset that it was overcast, eventhough I could’ve sworn it was sunny. Either way, we had a picnic, but I don’t remember eating.
