Frost and ice

This morning when I woke there was ice on the inside of the bedroom window!

The cold spell goes on and on and is causing chaos in some parts of the country with airports closed, cancelled trains and a lot of poor people stranded in their cars on a motorway. I said to my son the other day, ‘I wish it would go away and come back on Christmas Eve.’

I’ve only been out once in nearly two weeks. We can’t get the car up the lane in the evening as it is too icy and I don’t want to walk up and risk falling. I’m not getting any younger, as my mother used to say!

This afternoon my daughter said, ‘I just looked out of the landing window and it looks like Narnia.’

It does.

Trains are still running here
