Off to Sydney.

We’re leaving for Sydney about lunch time. I’m a bit worried about leaving home when the weather is really hot and all I hear are extreme fire warnings. We’re on the outskirts of town and haven’t been affected by fires since we’ve lived here, but it’s worrying all the same. And making it worse is our neighbours either side are away too. We’ll be back late Sunday afternoon. I would have stayed an extra day if I’d known the Sydney festival was on, but with the weather they way it is, I’m glad I didn’t know.
Husband got the dogs’ beds out of the shed in preparation for taking them to the kennels. They got really excited when they spied them, and knew they were going in the car. I think they also know where they’re going, as they love the kennels. Margo is such a lovely lady and they welcome her like a long lost friend.
I spent ages yesterday morning and evening watering the grass. When we get home it won’t be such a dust bowl hopefully. Some patches don’t even look like they’ve been watered.
The birds loved the sprinkler being on. I need to get a new bird bath, as the one we had was run over by a tradesman who had to park his van on our front grass. No offer of replacing it. I love watching the birds taking a bath and they miss it during this terrible weather.
Melissa and Luka are on their way to Japan. She was sad to be leaving Canada as she loves it there. It was Luka’s first time there. But they’ll have a great time snowboarding in Japan and he can practice his Japanese.
Then when she gets home, after visiting us, she has to prepare for Uni and living on little money. That will be a learning experience, something she hasn’t had to do since she was 18 and first lived on her own. But she’s a thrifty person and I’m sure she’ll manage ok.
I am covered in insect bites. I don’t think it’s mosquito bites, as I usually know when they are around. Last night I sprayed the bedroom and no extra bites this morning. I think sometimes insects get in through the air conditioner, as I saw mossies coming down them one year. If I could stop scratching them they would fade away, but I must be doing it during my sleep. And the heat from the shower gets them itching too.
I’ve had customers in the supermarket asking when the Easter buns are coming! And there are Easter eggs on sale already.
I may get a chance to be online when I’m in Sydney as Melissa has left her computer for me to use.

Bye……….
