Heatwave.

Today is going to be 40C and that’s only the first of many hotter days to come. Along with a hot north wind, there could be bushfires. There’s a total fire ban for our area and also for North east Victoria. I hope none of the campers decide they want a bbq, because I’m not sure if the gas ones are allowed or not. Certainly no wood fires. I suppose we’ll get the usual idiots lighting grass fires deliberately, and then there are the people who throw cigarette butts out their car window instead of using the ashtray. Someone did that a few years ago on the wooden bridge in town and it caught fire. I’ve seen it happen a few times but never could catch up to get the car rego so I could report them. Fingers crossed nothing drastic happens.
I’m still doing extra hours at work, and am now working for an hour from 7am because my driver is in hospital, and I have to help the substitute driver in the mornings. I hope this only lasts until early next week, as I will be having a few days off to go to Sydney. The most important thing though is the health of the regular driver. He’s having tests on Monday, so I hope things turn out well for him.
Melissa and Luka are having a great time in Whistler. There had been lots of snow until a few days ago, then it turned icy. Luka posted a video on Facebook of him snowboarding, but I can’t put it here.
I’ve booked most of our Europe holiday, except for a last minute decision to visit Berlin and Paris. We’ll probably never be in that area again, and Melissa and Evan said we should do it, as Berlin is lovely. It just means a train from Prague to Berlin, where we’ll stay a few days, then a train to Paris for another day or two.
I’ve also booked day trips in Milan, Krakow and Rome. I’m still waiting on confirmation from the travel firms though.
Can’t wait until Jan 23rd as Melissa and Evan will be home for a few days. Not Luka though, as he’ll be back at work in Sydney for a few weeks. Then he has 3 months leave of absence to visit Poland for a family christening and some time with his parents and Polish friends. That’s where we’ll meet up with him in May. He has to translate!
OK that’s it.

Bye……….

You are becoming a world traveler!

RYN: I hadn’t, either, until this.

Your traveling plans sound fun. There are places in the world I would not want to go to now.

RYN. Beezoms, (or spelled correctly besoms, sorry) are brooms made with a bundle of twigs tightly bound to a stick handle. Like the things witches fly on.:)

We had two fires so far this summer season but nothing as devastating as Down-under with those huge Eucalyptus trees burning! Hope you will be safe from such a disaster! Oh your trip sounds just fabulous. I would also like to visit some Eastern European countries. But it seems that the visitor must take their time doing those countries one by one. Too beautiful. You are so blessed!!! RYN: Thank you soooo very much!

Oh so by the way, I didn’t know that Yahoo Messenger is still existing! Saw it on your front page. That’s super nice. I don’t use it anymore for many many years. it was so much fun though but I stopped using it when I became too involved in website design and other stuff – taking up much of my midnight hours. Nowadays I love to sleep those same hours! Lolol. Enjoy a great day!

I read about the heatwave in your part of the world. Always amazes me that some people will throw lit cigarettes out of car windows under those conditions. Your European trip sounds wonderful. I’ve travelled extensively in France, Germany and Austria but never been to Berlin. RYN: Health is not great but I’m doing okay. Best wishes to all. <{:0)
