Melbourne visit and a 2nd car.
I’m going to Melbourne tomorrow afternoon as my aunty Rena is really ill. I only heard this from my girlfriend, not my cousin Rosalind who should have called me. She was ill last year and recovered but this time it’s worse. She’s 85 and is my mum’s last surviving sister, the last of the Scott line.
While I’m there I’m going to stay with Betty as she’s on her own while her son and DIL are in the Phillipines. I’ll also call in and see my brother’s ex wife Georgina and my husband’s sister Margaret. And maybe get to see Evan depending on what days he’s working. He seems to be working 7 days a week lately. So my weekend will be full.
Melissa is in Thailand for a couple of weeks. I have no idea which part but I’m sure she’s having a great time.
Then on March 3rd she is off to Perth, Western Australia for a few days to celebrate her 30th birthday on March 5th with a few friends over there. Evan is going with her so that’s probably why he’s working so many hours. I don’t think Luka’s going as his band has lots of weekend gigs in March.
We bought a 2nd car yesterday. Smaller than the one we sold recently. We tried to get by on 1 car, but when I was out at work my husband was stuck at home. So our mechanic found one for us. Just as well, as neither of us knows anything about cars and I didn’t want to get landed with someone else’s troubles. This one has just been registered for 12 months which was great.
I was on Skype webcam a few days ago ‘chatting’ to Luka’s mum and dad. His mum has been learning English and we had a great time trying to communicate. Lots of laughter and shrugging of the shoulders when we didn’t understand each other. But it was nice for the 4 of us to see each other on the webcam. The weather in Poland has been freezing and she said it had got down to -27C the day we were talking. I think over 400 people have died in Europe’s big freeze.
We seem to have got rid of all the crickets thank goodness. The pest control guy said they sometimes just seem to pick a house at random and settle there for a bit. None of our nearest neighbours had any and we were worried there may have been a nest of them under our house, which is raised off the ground a bit. But apparently they don’t do that. I had visions of them being here for months! Yuk!
I hope I remember to take some photos in Melbourne. I always take my camera but forget to use it when I go there to meet the girls. We all get talking and catching up and my camera gets forgotten. LOL
Bye…………
I don’t mind crickets except that they keep me up at night. What does Melissa do that allows her so much travel time? We’ve been hearing about Europe’s big freeze. Glad I’m not in it! Safe travels on your Melbourne journey!

Yes, eastern Europe has been really cold and Poland was mentioned as one of the really cold countries with homeless people dying. Melissa certainly likes travelling! Hope you have a good time and that your aunt will be ok.

RYN: Sounds like a dream job! I don’t see the curb on spending as a bad thing. Personal debt can get out of control with some people.

RYN: We use our cards for business expenses but pay them off in full each month. I get bonus points that I redeem for gift cards, so not only do I not pay their usurious interest rates, I make THEM pay ME in gift cards. LOL!
