Further travels.
Melissa managed to get off the island of Koh Samui and flew to Bangkok. She had 2 days touring the markets there and buying lots of clothes very cheaply. I can’t see her backpacking with more stuff so maybe she’ll send some home.
Then she headed for an island off the Thai coast near the Cambodian border where she enjoyed, in her words “sun, sand, cocktails and elephants”. Next is Phnom Penh and meeting up with her friend.
Saturday we are off to Melbourne to see Evan. Husband is going to the Melbourne Comedy Festival with him while I visit friends and family.
Our weather has been wonderful up until today. We had lovely autumn days and nights then suddenly the temperature dropped, the rain started and the heater is required. brrr Still can’t really complain as we do need some more rain. It’s nice to see everything so lovely and green when it’s usually a dust bowl in the back yard.
Only 3 weeks until our trip to Canada and Alaska. Husband still doesn’t know we’re also visiting Washington DC and South Africa.
We have a house sitter coming the day before we leave. She looks after the dogs and minds the house and it costs her nothing but the petrol to drive from her last house sitting job. If I had put the dogs in kennels it would have cost me $1200 for the 5 weeks. Too much money.
My brother is being assessed this week for what we believe may be Alzheimers. My doctor also said it could be depression causing his symptoms. I just hope they can get him to go as he can be very stubborn.
When in Melbourne I am meeting up with husband’s sister, who is having problems in her marriage. It’s a 2nd marriage for both of them and his adult daughter is causing problems which her dad is in denial about. She seems to be a nasty person who is intent on breaking up the marriage. According to my SIL, she’s not far from seeing it happen.
I hope you have a lovely holiday, and it will be a great surprise for your husband!

The drop in temperature is pretty noticable isn’t it! Yuk! Time to buy new jumpers I think. Have lovely holidays and a good trip to Melbourne.
