It’s just been an absolute barrage of everything and all the little things that occur along the way.
This week has been filled with my cable installation, a “get down on your knees and thank God” moment, long, hot runs, burnt eggs and smoke-filled rooms, the best mashed potatoes I have ever had in my entire life, the beginning of plans for a 5 bedroom house next year, the assigning of 115 pages to read for History by next Tuesday, an unexpected bonus check, losing someone and realizing maybe I hadn’t really lost all that much, a lot of mail (both incoming and outgoing), my absolute genius at fixing computer hardware, the discovery of the wonderful Birthday Alarm, a lot of funny pictures, and, as usual, insane times and conversations with my girls.
Life never stops here. It’s like running a marathon – you can pause for a water break and to catch your breath, but no matter when you do it, the world keeps sprinting past you, taunting, “Keep up, keep up!” “As soon as one minor/major crisis is solved, another springs up. Perhaps this is because I worry too much or because this is just the point in my life where everything is supposed to be totally nuts.
Yeah, like my whole life hasn’t been totally nuts!
I’m at work now (I started at 7) and my weekend is jammed packed – work, work, and more work, beer and pizza night with the girls, homework, housekeeping, family dinner, and running.
Maybe if I just keep running, I’ll catch up to everything.
I just need some water first…
