First one from Whitewater
I’m all moved in and quite comfortable in my cramped yet cozy setup – I’ve made sure to make it happy with pictures and magazines clippings and the like. My roommate, Jennifer (oh, the irony of it all!) is sweet and has a nice sense of sarcasm, which, of course, I always appreciate in a person. She works a lot (two jobs on campus during the week and one back home in Milwaukee) and doesn’t stay on the weekends. That will be nice, of course, to have some alone time, but I think it will be a bit lonely. Luckily, I’ve already met a bunch of the girls on the floor, in particular, Holly. She’s my neighbor in 319 and is incredibly sweet – she doesn’t have a roomie and I think she’s already lonely! So we spent some time today putting up pictures and watching “Lingo” and “Match Game.” She’ll be a lot of fun – can’t wait to see the adventures we have. She reminds me VERY much of Kourt – looks and personality wise. I think I’ll have the kind of relationship with her that I had with Amber and Becky and, at times, Lauren (I say at times only because Lauren didn’t live in the dorms). Funny thing – I live on the part of the floor that’s in a square – there are four rooms on my side of the square. That means there are 7 people living there. 5 of us are “Jennifers”! I go by Jen, my roommate goes by Jennifer, another set of roomies is a Jenny and a Jenni, and the other one is also a Jennifer. I’m really, really amused by that. We also have two sets of identical twins on the floor. My RA is Michelle and seems VERY sweet. She was really helpful with moving in and getting settled. I want to look into getting out of my lease at DLK for next year (or subletting it or something) and maybe being an RA. Or possibly just living in the dorms – I’d really forgotten how much fun it can be to live surrounded by girls. 🙂
Not having any big emotions or anything right now – excited about starting classes tomorrow (screwy, ain’t it?), especially my creative writing class. I’ve already gotten my books and the one for the class looks really fun. I think I’ll have to keep a journal, which I know I’ll enjoy. My math looks REALLY freaking hard, but, luckily, Mark’s good at math and Michelle is a math education major! I’m neutral about the philosophy classes – I’ll just have to get there and see how they go. It’s kind of nice because I have all of my classes tomorrow – I’ll get an immediate sense of whether or not I like them, my schedule, my teachers, etc. It’ll be a slightly long day, what with my late afternoon class, but there’s a nice break at 1:45 and lunch with Mark to look forward to. And I’m walking to class with Holly tomorrow for our 9:30’s. Should be fun. 🙂 She’s a music education major (vocal) and loves punk, so it’ll be fun to share the music obsession with her!
It’s almost 11, so I should start thinking about bed in a few hours…so I think I’ll just go watch TV or put up pictures or something.
Later, y’all.
Man, how confusing for your RA to have so many Jens!! Good luck to her…lol Well, here’s to a new semester, I hope all goes well for you in Whitewater. Change is GOOD. And you’re damn lucky girl that you make friends so easily. :o)

Sounds like a good start! I have a question you may be able to help me with: My daughter just went back to school and is showing signs of depression only to find out her roomie, who she really loves, is not coming back to school…Any suggestions to help her?
