A woman in my choir class told me that she wasn’t at rehearsal last week because she was being interviewed by CNN. Why? Because her son was in Bali during the bombings and four of his rugby teammates were killed. Both of his eardrums were ruptured and he won’t recovering his hearing in one ear. He’s very bruised and very shaken. She looked so destraught as she shared her story. It made me want to cry…
Today, in Spanish, we were discussing “La historia oficial” after the pop quiz (which I did quite well on, THANK you!). We were supposed to get through all 8 non-opinion questions on the worksheet, but we became so involved in the first question that we didn’t move on to the others. Jodie told us the history of Argentina’s political problems and I’ve never been so disgusted in my life. The ways the poor “desaparecidos” were treated is inhumane, the stomach drop especially. And I can’t believe that one of the people who was involved with it, Menem, is up for re-election! So pathetic…

that’s life. corruption and power. in line is suffering. survival of the fittest. we may not like it, but american propogand does shit to save the world. better to get used to starving babies that you can’t help than to fret away your life for them. but that’s just me…andrew
