The Times They Are A Changin’

After that first summer after I graduated High School, some friends went away for college, some stayed locally and others still had one year of High School.

Alan, Denver, George, Sean, Laura, Michelle, and Sue were still in high school.

Eric went off to college in Pennsylvania and Dan went to a school in upstate New York for Forestry.

Mark had run for a Member of Board of Education for our school district as a Senior and won so he was forced to go to a local college. I went to community college after missing the first semester as I didn’t drive until then and Jay, at this time, was working full time at a nearby photography studio.

By this time Denver and Stacey tried dating, but it only lasted about two weeks. Sad, because I thought they were perfect for each other.

The Pet Food store that George’s parents owned wasn’t fairing too well, and as soon as George graduated, Denver and I were laid off. George was forced to work there full time for without a salary.

Alan was in the process of joining the U.S. Marines right after he graduated. Sean was applying for schools down in Georgia. It looked like soon enough our band of friends would all be going our separate ways.
