Happy Thanksgiving
I know it’s not Thanksgiving in the USA but it will be in Canada so if you’re not in Canada disregard this.
Today I made our Thanksgiving meal because not everyone was available for dinner tomorrow. Besides I always like a day to just relax without having to clean up a big mess.
Hubby made the turkey, gravy and mashed potatoes. I made corn (haha), biscuits, apple pie, pumpkin pie, stuffing, squash, and tossed salad.
Let me tell you now it was DELICIOUS!
I know tomorrows weigh in is going to depress me but right at this particular moment I don’t care. Thanksgiving only comes once a year and I enjoyed it.
Tonight at dinner I made everyone say what they were thankful for. Here is a list of the replies:
Myself – thankful for my family and a good job that enables me to afford meals like we were eating. Thankful for the troops who can’t be home (and even those that are home) with their families this thanksgiving. Thank you sometimes just doesn’t seem like enough.
Hubby – thankful for a meat thermometer so he didn’t poison all of us with salmonella. LMAO what a goof.
K – thankful for loving parents who have always given her the best they could. Thankful for a job that allows her to have the things she wants in life like her car.
J – thankful for football ( lol he loves football can you tell ??) Thankful for doctors and nurses who saved his dad’s life last year when he had a heart attack.
K’s boyfriend – Thankful for K for just being her (what a sucker he is). Thankful for K’s family for inviting him over for his very first Thanksgiving dinner. They don’t celebrate in Zimbabwe where he’s from. He really really misses his family. They are scattered all over the world because they can not afford to all be in one place. He’s a really nice guy.
I think hubby and I are going to buy him a plane ticket to the UK for Christmas so he can be with his sister. He really wants to go but the guy lives alone, pays his rent and all his bills so he really can’t afford much.
At the end of the day I’m thankful I have such a beautiful family. 🙂
I’m making turkey soup and turkey stew with the left over turkey carcas. I hope it turns out good.
Now excuse me while I undo the top button of my jeans and relax for a while. (I think I ate too much)
Dude, can we say YUM? Ahhhh, man, that sounds like a good time was had. I’m half wondering if we should stop weighing until after the holidays. Pshhooot…know how much I’d gain? 🙂
