Dumbasses are a Dime A Dozen

Last month I mentioned I had to take my ring in to be resized to a size 4.  Finally, after much procrastinating I took it to Birks.  I had the guy size it and then asked him to send it in to be sized to a 4.  He wrote up the bill and handed me the slip. It clearly says decrease to SIZE 4.

He tells me it will take 2 weeks.  Sigh. Okay 2 weeks without it is better than losing it forever so I parted with it. Last Friday they called. It was in and I could come and pick it up. So I did. Hub and I get there and hand the lady the slip and she gets my nice sparkly, looks like brand new again, ring out. I look at it and said out loud OMG that looks so small.  I tried it on for size and it doesn’t fit 🙁  It’s TOO SMALL 🙁  So before the lady could say anythign to me I asked her to size the ring. She puts it on the ring sizer and says, it’s 3 and half.

WWWWWHHHHHAAAATTTT?!?!?!

You’ve got to be kidding me. How could someone screw up THAT bad?  I was so upset. I hate not having my wedding ring. It feels like a part of me is missing and really it is. So needless to say it was sent back to be sized up again.   I told the lady I was concerned about it being cut and sliced so often that it would just snap on me if the shank got too thin. She looked at me dumbfounded as to say. Huh what do you mean. So I told her to run her fingers across the shank (bottom half of the ring) and feel the difference in circumferance. "Oh it’s a little thin" WWe’ll add some more gold to it for you and thicken it up.  Gee thanks!  Then she says we won’t charge you for the second resizing.  Well NO SHIT FOOL. It’s your mistake. I shouldn’t even be paying for ANY sizing after you guys screwed up. It shouldn’t take 4 weeks to size a ring properly but then again, apparently it does. SIGH
Short term goal..Ultimate Goal

Ugh…that sucks so much. You should at least ask for a discount on the first resizing.

That is not fair. I would complain and ask to not have to pay AT ALL. Or like Buttermoon said, atleast get a discount on the first resizing. Idiots! I don’t blame you for being mad, and worrying about your wedding ring. I’m sure it means a lot to you.

ugh. my cousin had hers resized (she gained 200lbs back then) and they lost a diamond. LOL but then again it was a cheap ring to begin with. i hope it comes back soon.

Idiots!

I agree with buttermoon, you should get a discount.

i wouldn’t pay for the resizing at all … especially since it took so long and they did it wrong!
