Blu Christmas
So yeah, Christmas was almost a week ago now. Sorry no update… I only now feel like I’ve recovered!
We went to Danny’s parents’ house for Christmas Eve and exchanged gifts with them there. I got a sweater, Danny got a sweater and a football chip and dip platter set to which he immediately exclaimed: Super Bowl Party! LoL While we were there his mom showed me a paper she had printed off from the internet. It was the house we’ve been looking at buying. The price dropped from $89,900 to $65,000! But more on that later…
After mom & dad’s we went to spend the night with his sister and her family. We opened gifts there with them Christmas Eve night also. (It was so weird for me. My family is traditionally, exclusively a Christmas Morning gift opening family!) I got a sandwich maker, and some strawberry bath stuff. He got a Redskins beanbag chair and a UNC Polo shirt. We brought the Wii with us and hooked it up on their big screen TV. I played Smash brothers with Danny’s nephew. We really wanted to play World Tour, we even brought all the instruments with us… but the disc got left at home on top of the stereo. Lesson learned: Put the discs back in the case, always! Ty went to be sometime around 1, the rest of us stayed up till 4am! We were just BS’ing, having a good old time.
Christmas morning we got up and opened the gifts from my family. I got super soft Happy Bunny PJ’s from my sister ans Wii Music, Danny got a new set of hair clippers. Our big gift from my family was a Blu Ray player! We were totally not expecting that! They also got us Twister to watch on it. (And Danny has already started the Blu Ray collection by buying Wanted. LoL ) It was funny because that’s all I heard out of him during the season. Either "I want a Blu Ray player" or "I want a Playstation 3". Neither were in our budget though. I did manage to score some Craftsman tools on sale and he is now the proud owner of a metric and an SAE 12 piece wrench set, a tool box, and some pliers. All for under $80! Thank you KMart! LoL
Christmas was spoiled by the fact that we both had to be into work that night. So we left SIL’s house around 4 to go home and nap. We got home and it was like 100 degrees in the house! I barely had the heat turned on, but it was in the 60’s and super sunny. We had to open the windows and sleep with a fan on, on Christmas frigging Day! But the nice thing was that we got to sleep in the bed together the next day! And it was in the 40’s… It’s a wonder I haven’t been sick all winter!
The house. We went the day after Christmas and had the realtor show us the inside. Pros: 3 big bedrooms with closets (!) and a walk-in in the master. New carpet throughout. Nice hardwoods in the living room. New cabinets in the kitchen. Finished family room in the basement. An acre of land. Cons: No appliances. Wood paneled walls. Tiny bathroom. But I’m not planning on living in the bathroom! LoL The house is in foreclosure. Apparently the previous owners split up. He took the heat pump, mailbox, and garage when he left. But the place has baseboard heat. We really like it. We both see alot of potential in it. It’s in a great area. I got approved for a mortgage and we went and put in our offer on Saturday. We should hear back by tomorrow, we’re hoping! Mortgage payments will be less than we’re paying for rent now!
And now it’s time to get ready for New Year’s! Where did 2008 go? 2009 resolution? To get pregnant!
