Where to begin… *e*

So, I wanna buy a house. Well, we wanna buy a house! LoL

But I’m not really sure to begin! I’ve tried doing some reading up on the internet, and have asked my parents (homeowners) a few questions.

We need to start off by getting approved for a mortgage, right? Then find a realtor and look at some houses. I’m going up in May to get started on all of this. But we’ll both be out of the area most of the time between then and the end of June when I have to leave. (My lease is up then.) So what about paperwork? Will the realtor send things to me to sign and send back if need be? Will we be able to close on the deal on July 1st?

I would just love some concrete answers. I’m usually a "go with the flow" type of gal. But this is major stuff here! This is a big deal!

And… will they even approve us? I pulled a credit report on myself last weekend, and my credit is fantastic. His is not so hot. But, on the plus side, he did double his salary in the last year and he will be debt-free by the end of this month. Well, all except his car loan. But without the other payments in the way that will be no problem!

Is this even a smart idea?

He just called me. He paid off one of his credit cards today! Woo hoo!
