I ♥ Vacation!
So… I took me a little trip. I left on a plane last Friday. I went to St. Louis to see one of my bestest friends in the whole wide world: Monica. She & I have been friends since I was 6 and she was 8. That’s a long time! LoL We had a great time together. She’s only lived in St. Louis for a few months and doesn’t know very many people, so she was glad to have a friend around for awhile.
On Saturday we took the kids to the St. Louis Zoo. We had to pay for parking but getting into the zoo is free. We were there for about 6 hours. The kids did pretty good. Until lunch when her son started acting up. He just never… quits… asking… questions! It’s nerve-racking! And he has to argue about everything! But it was no big deal. Oh, and before lunch it decided to rain. Just a short storm. We stayed under the awning at the hippo area. All in all it was a good day.
Saturday night Monica & I went and saw Knocked Up. It was a cute movie. It was funny but it never made fun of the situation. We laughed our asses off. Oh, and I got carded to buy a movie ticket! LoFL I’ve never been carded to buy a movie ticket, not even when I was underage! I just had to giggle at that.
Sunday we chilled around the house. It was nice to relax. I have to bring this up. Monica smokes. Her boyfriend used to, but now doesn’t. He hates that she smokes. Actually, he thinks she doesn’t anymore. She hides it just to avoid the fighting. So all weekend we had to sneak around! Whenever we’d go out we’d smoke and then she’d have to brush her teeth before going home, she’d wear a jacket anytime she was smoking. It must be working because he doesn’t say anything. And he’s the type that would say something.
Monday we drove out to the-middle-of-nowhere to go to a meeting for a product she’s selling. We missed our exit on the highway and had to drive another 7 or 8 miles before another exit came up so we could turn around. We made it there half an hour late, but it was all good. We left around 10pm.
On our way back home we stopped at Wendy’s for frostys! Yummmm! LoL And that led to the "Frosty Discussion". I’m old school: there is only one flavor of Frosty. I don’t care that it "now" comes in vanilla… that is not frosty flavor. She says the same thing. So the guy at the counter (Mr. 11pm I’m the shit Wendy’s Manager) asks us what flavor and I say "Frosty Flavor". And he goes on about the whole vanilla/chocolate deal. He steps away to fill up our cups with Frosty Goodness and Monica makes a joke to me about Strawberry Frostys. He comes back and says "actually the only place you can get Strawberry is in Wisconsin during strawberry season". We just laughed. He was like the king of the Wendy’s menu! I dunno, it was funny to us! LoL
So we got home, cracked open some Smirnoff Twisters, spent too much time on the internet giggling, and went to bed sometime betweed 2 & 3.
Her youngest is almost 2. (A little sidenote: I was at the hospital in 2005 when she was born. What an amazing experience!) She never really got entirely used to me being there. By the end of the day she was fine with me, but every morning was like starting over. She just acted all shy. I’d say something to her and she’d smile and bat her eyelashes at me. She’s such a cutie. Oh, but let her see bare feet! She loves to tickle feet, it’s so cute! And shoes! The child is always playing with shoes: putting them on herself, putting them on someone else, or just carrying them around. I call her Imelda Marcos! It’s so cute!
The next day I had to come home. I had a really good time, I hated to leave. And my flight home sucked. The worst turbulence I’ve been through yet. I’d say half an hour of my two hour flight was bumpy. It was making me nauseated a little bit at first. But I got used to it. Then the last hour of the flight the lady beside me had a baby that was just screaming! And all she kept doing was shoving a pacifier in his mouth. Poor guy.
Wednesday, Justin & I went out to dinner at Chevy’s. (Justin is one of my best friends, we’ve worked together for about 5 years now.) We got there and it was pouring down rain. We ran into the restaurant, then into the bathrooms to dry off. We get seated and order our drinks. Then someone comes around asking who owns the maroon Grand Am. My trunk popped open when I was running & trying to lock the doors. All of my laundry in my trunk was soaked. Nice… But dinner was good. And it stopped raining by the time we were done there. So we were almost dry by the time we got to the movie theatre. We saw Pirates of the Carribbean 3. Another very good movie. The two hours and forty-five minute just flew by, the movie never got boring. And that’s all I’m gonna say because I don’t want to spoil it!
I also went Wednesday afternoon & turned in my deposit on that apartment. It was only $100 because of where I work. But, they called me Thursday and since I have no rental history I have to give them another $200 towards the deposit. Which is no biggie. Shit, I can prepay an entire year’s worth of rent if needed. And I’m seriously considering doing just that. One less thing to worry about.
So Thursday I did laundry all day. And also, I called a guy that I’ve been chatting with over the internet. We talked for 2 hours! Just about stuff. We had been chatting online for about a month now. He just gave me his number Wednesday. He hadn’t been bugging me for my number and none of this "let’s hang out" crap. We’ve just been talking is all. It’s cool. I’ve seen pictures of him, and I think he’s hot as hell! And he’s easy to talk to, and seems like alot of fun. We’ll see what happens. But I’m not counting on anything other than a good friend out of all of this.
And today I vacuumed and washed my car. I finished up the last of my laundry. I went shopping at Kohl’s for awhile and bought a really cute green shirt. I met up with Alaine for our Friday Night Date. LoL We were gonna go to Cold Stone for ice cream, but decided instead for burgers at this place right next door. It’s called Five Guys. OMG It was fantastic! I had a bacon cheeseburger. It was sooooo good. And we shared a regular fry, and couldn’t even finish it! We never made it to Cold Stone! LoL Then we went to her place and goofed around for awhile.
Now I’m at home. It’s taken me almost an hour to write all of this! Tomorrow we’re working on the floor some more. And that’s all! I’m gonna head to bed soon!
