These foolish games…

It started last night. Philip warned me it would. He was honest with me and told me that while we were on our little break he had "entertained" the idea of getting back together with his ex. He was all nicey with her for a week or so, bubt then he came to his senses. He realized, and remembered, that a relationship with her was just never going to be right. "There’s just something missing with her", were his words to me.

Well,  in the time he had spent with her she had gone behind his back & gotten my cell phone number out of his phone. He warned me that she had it. Sure enough, when he & I were having dinner lalst nite, she called. Well, I guessed it was her. The number was blocked. I answered and she asked if this was a bad time. I told her yes, I’m in the middle of eating supper. She called me back at 11:30 last nite, number still blocked! I didn’t pick up.

At 9:45 this morning my phone rings again, this time with a number. I answer it. The witch has now given my phone number to her sister! So I give her the benefit of the doubt, let her go on with her little spiel. That "Philip is playing the both of us, that he & his ex are "in love" and engaged, and that she just wanted me to know all of this… So which is it, are they engaged or is he playing us? If his ex "knows he’s playing both of us" then why is she engaged to him?!? Why aren’t you "warning" your sister? I told her, I suddenly feel like I’m back in high school! "Well I’m just trying to warn you!" I’m not buying it. I told her that I am a grown woman, I can make my own decisions, and I would appreciate it if she lost my number!

So I called Philip and lelt him know that she had contacted me and what she had said. He said he had called her sister to let her know that things were over between them. He was afraid she may "go off the deep end". (She has a history of mental breakdowns and such.) And he wanted to give her a heads up to look out for her. Philip had tried being friends with this woman. He told her that he couldn’t be in a relationship with her. And he would like to be her friend, as he is friends with her children. She said she couldn’t be friends with him, it was a relationship or nothing. So he said good-bye to her.

Do I bellieve him? Yes I do. He looked me dead in the eyes when he was telling me all of this last night. He could have lied and said he never spoke to her in the last few months. But he told me the truth, that he had thought about it, for like a minute. And I believe him. He had plenty of opportunity to lie, and didn’t. Plus, I’ve also got an inside line. My best friend’s boyfriend is his best friend. And guys tell each other about their "conquests". And I honestly believe that if Philip was "playing" me, Pat would at least warn me that something may be going on. Or he’d tell Peggy & she’d for sure say something.

I just feel secure that I know in my heart what is right for me. I’ve known it for months, that’s why I’ve held onto a breath and a prayer. And who knows, this may all change in a few months or years or whatever. But that man looked at me last night and smiled and said that "I make him happy". That’s got  to mean something, right?

Oh yeah, back when he & I were first together, she used to drive by his house every morning on her way to work, which is out of the way, anytime I was in town. She was keeping track of when I was there. She tells him all of this. Then she tells him (she work’s for the Sheriff’s Office) that she had run my plates and knows "who he’s with and what he’s doing" and how wrong it is. (He’s 15 years older than me.) Um… isn’t that an invasion of my privacy? She had no reason, no legitimate reason at all, to run my plate. I could have her job for that….

So, in summation, a crazy lady has my phone number, knows where I live, and probably knows where I work. Great… I’m gonna go get ready for work now! This should be an… interesting day!
