It’s October, and I’m happy..

October is my favourite month πŸ™‚ So I made a promise to myself that no matter what, I am going to enjoy this month!

So, on the skin front, my friend who is an NP took a close look at my bumps when I was in Sudbury, and she says it looks like a contagious skin virus. This is the third time skin virus has come up, and actually… I think she’s right. It only spreads when I scratch, and use hot water. I have the scratching under control (mostly), but if the water is even a little bit too hot the bumps multiply. She said that corticosteroids will supress the immune system, and so when I went off them, it could cause the virus to come back, worse. She also said the virus gets worse before it get batter and things such as exposure to black mold (thanks Apartment!) can cause it to react faster.

I HOPE its a virus, because that means that it will go away with time. I’m still eating well, although I am re-introducing foods back into my diet. Coffee, I couldn’t away from, but I only have one coffee a day.  She told me, that being on prednisone and eating so limited I am actually harming myself. Nothing I’m eating (or was ‘allowed’ to eat) was giving me natural Pottassium, and thats a big depletion factor when you’re on prednisone.

Now that I’m tapering off,  I feel itchier, and last night I woke up multiple times to apply a zinc-based diaper rash cream on the itchy spots… but at least I feel back asleep easy enough, with no scratching. I had a good day yesterday. I juiced two big mason jars of oranges and apples, and made a bunch of roasted veggies and quinoa for dinner. I also went grocery shopping.  The busier I am, the less I itch. I think keeping my mind occupied is a big thing. Also, if it is a virus, there’s nothing I can do, it has to run its course. Actually, I can eat healthy (which i do πŸ™‚ and boost my immune system to help my body clear it faster. But, there is no quick fix.

After I’m done the prednisone I’m going to do a ten day juice fast, with emphasis on immune boosting veggies. Today I had a Black Kale, Apple, Celery,  Carrot juice for ‘lunch’. It was good too! Apple really helps cut the Kale bitterness. Sam uses black kale in his green smoothies and he says he finds it sweeter so it could be that too.

I feel good though. I mean, in general. I’m not yo-yoing moods anymore. Now I’m just obsessed with the ‘contagious’ factor of the virus… although people with high functioning immune systems sometimes never get it… so that could explain why Sam is unaffected…

OK, back to school work. I want to get an outline for my Unit 3 project done, than I’m going to reward myself with a movie and knitting, before diving back into the books πŸ™‚

Hope everyone is enjoying Autumn.. I will note soon πŸ™‚

xoxo

Watcha knitting? At least now you potentially have an answer! Are you still in the mouldy apartment? :/

Are you on Prosebox? I’m adding my bookmarks there.
