40 minutes
I had an option to either go hang out with my friends, or go into work tonight. Or rather, work asked me if I wanted to. But, you know what? Work is work. Friendships are valuable, at least to me. So I said no to the 4 hour shift at work tonight. I’m doing more hours each week for the next few weeks anyway, and I’d already made plans, so yeah. Meh!
We went to some Asian place in the city that I hadn’t been to before. The food was okay, but I could just tell it was too fatty. I think I ate maybe half of it, but it was only $14, so that’s okay. I think I preferred the coke I had with it lol.
It’s a really unusually cold night tonight. I mean, yeah it is Winter here still, but it hasn’t been this cold in a few weeks it seems. I was the only one sensible enough to change my clothes and wear a jacket out into the city. The other boys were freezing their balls off.
I also went to the gym again tonight, around 11:30pm, after the boys had gone. I’ve been more dedicated lately, especially over the last week. I’ve been keeping tabs on my weight over the past month. On July 18th, I was 85.5kg. 85kg was always my goal weight, for quite some time anyway. I remember being ecstatic when the scales read it. One month later, my weight has been around about 87kg, tonight tipping the scales at 88kg. Wow. That is the most I have ever weighed. And I’m hardly fat haha. If I was shorter, I imagine I would probably be fat, but because I’m 191cm tall, it seems to work for me. I’m just so glad I’m not that scrawny 70kg kid I used to be.
I’ve been to the gym the last five nights in a row. I know that seems a little crazy, but I’m going to have today off completely, and my days have alternated between upper and lower. I had really bad DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) in my legs the past two days, where walking down stairs was pretty painful, but I know that’s because I hardly ever work my legs, and I expected that. I just wish there was more of a way of working ones glutes without working the legs as well 😛 I’ve been trying to incorporate squats into my leg days, which is a new concept to me 🙂
I’m still keeping my music charts, my other hobby, over on my chart site at http://www.mattsfavsongs.blogspot.com.au – I’m pretty sure that’s it anyway lol, and my forum I’m on. It’s nice to alternate between reading entries here and discovering new music via the other members on the forums, because let’s face it, I’d go insane without my music to listen to.
I found out yesterday that my mobile phone company is going down the gurgler within the next month. It’s through no fault of their own, but rather greedy Telstra taking their wholesale company to court. Apparently the proceedings have gone through and because that company is going under, it means the one I use for my services also is. I have one month to transfer my number to another provider, or else I lose it completely 🙁 I figure I might as well use the credit I’ve just paid for (literally the DAY before this news came about lol) closer to the cut-off date. I’m thinking Aldimobile as the next best option from the research and advice I’ve gotten so far.
We have a staff discount day this weekend, so I intend to make use of that. I’m also eyeing off a laptop I like, to finally replace this one dying on me every 40 minutes, which is literally what happens. I have to time everything I do online within 40 minute increments, which helps explain why I am SO far behind in catching up on your diary entries! I promise I will.
So big spending for me coming up soon.

My Foursquare stats screen as of tonight. I only really check into the gym because I like how often it tells me I’m going. I think 33 days out of the last 60 is a pretty decent effort, right?
I’ve only ever had one challenge for the mayorship, by some chick named Nicole, but I’ve yet to run into her at the gym, despite Foursquare saying we were both there at the same time. I’ve been the major for at least the last four months. Not that it’s a big deal to me, but it’s nice to challenge other fitness people I don’t even know.
Edit: I didn’t think this entry saved, because my laptop died RIGHT as I hit the ‘post entry’ button. Seems like it did though – yay!
…. with the mention of food you’ve made me insanely hungry for no reason, it’s not like you went into detail… just…. hungry. -sigh- pregnancy. I would have likely turned down the four hours for the same reason.
