The EKKA! (pics)
Phew. I need to write. Between OD stuffing up and my laptop only lasting a half-hour before the battery dies, I have to type quite fast! 😛
Yesterday, I went to the EKKA! I have lived in Brisbane for 11 years, in suburbs all over this great city, and in all my time here, I had never once been. It would come and go, and I would be none the wiser, or I’d know it was on, but be busy etc whatever. Well ,you know what? I had my usual three days off work, on on my final day off (Thursday), I decided that if I was gunna go, it would have to be now and then. So I packed my little bad with my jacket and my phone charger and my wallet and off I walked down to the RNA, which is easily in walking distance.
Yes, I went by myself, as I do with most things in my life. I guess I’m a bit of a loner. Or a bit more of an independent. I realised I have lost my god-damn student ID card, and I have searched for it everywhere. It’s so annoying because it pretty much renders my concession Go Card useless, and I just sucked it up and paid the adult fare at the gate. I still had around about $140 left over from when I won $200 at The Beat last week, and yes, I pretty much spent it all at The EKKA =D
But you know what? I had a good time. Checking out all the showbags and the crazy rides and the animals, although a lot of the animals such as the cats and the dogs had been taken away somewhere, and I arrived mid-afternoon, so that was a little bit disappointing. I had a look at a few of the unique birds and chooks and turkeys on display, and of course I checked out the agricultural displays, playing homage to my childhood.
I’ve posted most of these on my facebook already, but have a squizz.
I had to laugh that someone decided to use the upcoming election to showcase their work.
The pigs on this one actually moved haha
So much effort!
Of course the faggot in me screamed when I saw this tent 😛
Showbag pavillion. I bought both my housemates showbags and gifts to put in them as well. They were both in a bad mood when I got home, so it was nice to put a smile on their faces. Probably because I told them I wasn’t giving them presents unless they cheered the fuck up 🙂
Everything I bought 🙂
Of course, I have lots more to write about that happened after the EKKA. But my laptop is about to die 🙁
I saw Ricki-Lee perform life before the incredible fireworks show. They had fireworks, lasers and water fountains all combined and it shit over anything else I’ve seen! I tweeted her later on telling her to thank one of her dancers for wearing a transparent shirt, cos he was FIIIIIINE. She favourited it.
OMG OMG OMG! I WANT A STEWIE DOLL!!!!!!!! Great pics! 🙂
