Hurricane Sandy superimposed images

So, whenever something like this happens, I try to gauge an idea on how big the storm was compared to where I live. I did that same when Cyclone Yasi hit here, by finding a superimposed image of the storm and putting it over the USA. As the USA and Australia have similar land masses (we just have about 330 million less people lol), this is what I came up with – thankyou google images!

Hmmm that’s quite the hefty storm!

I heard on the news, they were talking about this hurricane actually helping out Obama during the presidential campaign, as he is able to do his presidential duties in addressing the nation over this natural disaster. Put an interesting spin on things.

I’ve also seen Soooooo many fake photoshopped images of what Hurricane Sandy has done. I’ve yet to turn on the TV to find out the real damage, although I’m pretty sure the empty pictures of Times Square and Manhatten under water seemed pretty real, at least to me waaay over here anyway.

I think what helps President Obama is that even Governor Christie who is a hard core Republican stepped in and gave Obama props. The damage back East (I am in the Southwest) is horrible.

Times square is alright. Battery park and other areas near the rivers are bad. My roommate found this picture of a guy scuba diving in the times square station and thought it was real…hah

Wow, kind of puts thing in perspective a bit! 🙁 I, so far, have heard of 17 people losing their lives..a mcdonalds flooding as well as taxi parking lots.. but I haven’t really researched or intentionally looked for “real” damage pictures. I sound kind of uncaring when I say, here on the west coast of the U.S, I’ve been interested in other things.. :/ Still crossing fingers for people over there though.

It’s crazy how many fake pics there are going around! But I’m curious to see them (call me crazy lol). It’s scary though, I have a few OD/FB friends in the NY area and I’m worried about them. I hope they all stay safe!

i was watching a livestream from the weather channel on youtube. it looks so scsry. i couldnt handle that much of a storm, i’d freak out so bad. lol
