Drill drill Catfish
I went to the movies last night with two of my closest mates, Ryan and Moe. We ended up seeing "Catfish", which is a movie I had heard a little bit about a while ago, as I read about it somewhere, but I’d forgotten the concept. Either way, it’s a documentary, entirely true, pretty much about the consequences of facebook. Ryan is a film-maker who I used to live with, so I always look forward to seeing his reviews on a film, and by the end of it he described it as awesome. Moe loved it as well. I was a little more skeptical. I just couldn’t believe that it was entirely true, even though Ryan said to me if it wasn’t true, they would have had to call it a "Mockumentary" by law. True I guess. I suppose I feel like they may have tweaked it a little, but that’s probably because the ending was just something I wouldn’t have thought could have happened, or it happened in a way that most normal people wouldn’t approach, you know? Haha, no you don’t, as I’m assuming you haven’t seen it. All I’m saying is that as a documentary that is entirely true, I thought the film was pretty damn amazing. Ryan said to me, ‘so your problem is you feel like you’re being deceived?’ and I said to him yeah, i felt like I was. I mean if I was in that guys situation I would’ve just got out of it as fast as I could, but because his mates were filming everything for a movie, he kept at it, documenting every detail.
I can’t give too much away on the off-chance someone reading this may want to see it, other than this guy meets a chick on facebook and decides to drive up to her house to meet her to see if she really is the real-deal, because anyone can be anyone hidden behind the anonymous monster called the internet.
I just woke up before at around 6am. I must’ve completely passed out as I knew I was tired.
I can’t believe i have to go to the Gold Coast again on Saturday, at midday, which is the worst time ever, just to get a bandage changed. Grrrr. Today I have the dentist. Not looking forward to that one, at all. ERGH! Horrible horrible place. I hate writing about it here cos every time I do, I feel scared and sick and yeah. I just hope my cough doesn’t decide to emerge whilst he’s drilling away in my mouth.
And if only my dentist was a hot guy and not some middle-aged man from China, that last sentence may have even been hot.
Drilling in your mouth… Ha!

Random noter: I have seen Catfish. Saw it when it first came out in the theater last fall. I personally really enjoyed it. I didn’t feel deceived because I already had a sense of what it might be about. I actually felt like the film touched on something that often does happen in this day and age of modern technology, something I’ve seen and witnessed, experienced in the past (even in the opendiaryworld) so in a sense I related to it. And after seeing it, all I did was want to talk about it because it was one of those films that can inspire deep conversation. I felt like the piece was sort of like social commentary, very sociological in aspects.

Well, I haven’t seen it. Yet I am testament to meeting the love of my life online.

Dude, that is so weird. I just watched that very movie last night with my friend Ryan. I had never even heard of it and had no idea what it was about going into it. I was so nervous halfway through! Honestly I thought it was really good, and – though very strange – completely plausible. It’s a strange, strange world, after all. And the internet only makes it easier for people to be that way.

So, I was sitting around and reading when I started to think about kangaroos! (I know, one random hell of a thought) But let me explain, if I were to look out a window in my house I would freak out if I saw a kangaroo sitting there because it’s not something I see everyday where I live… My question for you is, is there something in the world that you think is too crazy to see if it were to pop up in front of you? 🙂
