Brisbane CBD Photos

This morning I decided to go for a walk down to the Brisbane CBD, as I’m not far from it.  First I walked to the shop (cos I was hungry duh lol) and then I walked to the river.  I was a bit cautious that cops might tell me to stay away, but I saw a couple of other people walking around and a few even by the river.  So I walked right alongside the river as close as i could.  They’d closed off the bridge and they have closed off a few of the streets as well.

I then walked back along the mall and it was fine.  I found myself thinking ‘Why are all these people sandbagging?’ when I saw them in areas that I didn’t think had a chance of being flooded, but I soon took that back when I walked further towards the Botanical Gardens to Charlotte street, and saw that is was under pretty much from there on.  Charlotte street for anyone who doesn’t know Brisbane, is only about two streets over from the very middle of the mall, but as that was the peak of the river, I think any further from that street will be saved.

Channel 7 was there when I arrived, and soon after, Channel 10 arrived, then I got a real shock when Campbell Newman showed up and introduced himself to everyone.  I wanted to shake his hand, but didn’t get to.  He definitely noticed me there though.  He was probably like, ‘Who is this fag amongst us?’ lol 😛  Haha, nah – I was wearing my singlet though.  I felt like I was next to someone famous!  Well he is in my hometown anyway haha.

Anyway, just wanted to share my photos.  Because my friends have been concerned, once again this is a public album on facebook.  Just add my name to your facebook and tell me you’re from here – if you’re not sick of me here, you probably will be there 🙂

But nah, I doubt it.  I’m quite proud of the fact that I still visit the OpenDiary website more than I do the Facebook one =)  I have to laugh at the random self-pic of me, but oh well!  =D
