Back from the docs
Okies, so I went to the doctor, amazed I got an appointment 2 hours after I rang, and I hate it in the waiting room cos there are other people waiting and I always try to suppress my coughing but it’s SO uncomfortable when all I wanna do is spit my lungs up.
Anyway eventually got in there. I think it was the same doctor I had last time. He told me that it’s just a viral thing going around and I basically just have to ride it out. Great. So I said chicken soup? And he’s like yeah. He did however write me out a strong cough suppressant medicine prescription so that was nice of him. And I was out there – free of charge, thank you Medicare 🙂
After that I went to the city to my other cosmetic doctor. I spent a while skimming through the various cosmetic magazines and observed the girls already in there waiting. All girls, all perfect skin on their faces, clearly regulars from what I could pick up. Probably back for a routine botox injection I presume? That shit wears off doesn’t it?
So yeah my doctor called me in and I said I was there cos I just wanted her to check up on the moles and tell me if everything was okay. She did and said they weren’t healed and would need at least two weeks. I dunno if she meant two weeks from when I had them done or another week on top of the week I just went through! She replaced my bandages though and ripped them off me. I knew that would hurt, but it wasn’t overly bad. She said that none of them were infected. PHEW. That’s what I was worried about. The bandages she put on are MUCH better than the ones I put on. She reckons the ones I put on were like what vets would use. LOL – no wonder I had so much redness – the stickiness was ripping my skin off – literally. She asked what one mark was that wasn’t there before and I said it was from the bandage. So she covered that up too lol. She said these bandages will last a long time so I shouldn’t even need to take them off. I guess I’ll wear them for another week. I asked her what bandages she uses and she said to ask the pharmacist for a clear window dressing 🙂 Yay I know what to get now. I thanked her and put my shirt back on, and I heard her talk to the receptionist. I was waiting at the counter ready to pay my $60 consultation fee, but the receptionist just stood there with a smile on her face and said ‘So that’s all then?’ sort of a question, yet sort of not. She didn’t sit down or print anything or ask me to pay – it seemed to be my cue to leave. I mean i guess all she did was replace my bandages, and I did fork over over a grand to her last week, but still, I found it nice they gave me the bandage change and the advice and her time free of charge. I was probably only in there about 5 minutes or so. She’s so lovely. If I ever did get cosmetic surgery and could actually afford it lol, I’d get it from her.
After that I went ti Priceline to get my prescription. It’s some sort of strawberry flavoured mixture that I’m meant to mix with honey and lemon. The honey I have is all gross so I threw it out and just mixed it with lemon. I don’t see how honey can help much more. Either way, I took some. Apparently it can make me quite drowsy and constipated. Great. Anything to get rid of this FUCKING COUGH – it’s driving me insane!!
Had a really nice chat this morning with you know who 🙂 I always like chatting to him.
Bandage removal=no fun.

I’m so glad that you were able to get medication, but sorry to hear that you’ll have to wear the bandages for another week or so. It’s so awesome that she didn’t charge you. Here, it’s like, you’re paying whether you’re there for 5 minutes or an hour, you’re still paying the same thing. I’m so glad that you got to chat with your hottie! Keeping my fingers crossed for you, bucko!

Manuka honey is a natural antibiotic. Good to hear you’re not infected with germs 🙂

That’s nice the doc didn’t charge you! A fave of mine on OD was mentioning she went to the dentist for a checkup and the dentist asked if she’d been eating lollies (she’s in her mid 30’s lol). That question alone got her charged with a “nutritional advice” fee of $60!!

I’m glad it’s not infected, but the longer heal time explains whey you’ve been in pain I guess. xxx

Awwwwe, I hope your cough goes away soon =( Though if the medicine makes you drowsy and constipated, I imagine some amusing stories from that one. But I am glad to hear that there is no infection in your healing mole removed skin! Just think, in less than a month, you should be healed! =)

There is something out there pretty much worldwide called mucinex it works like a charm. There are a few different kinds of it but taking that during the day then the cough suppressant in the evening hours will greatly help, stay hydrated, soups rock the world and also get some extra vitamin C in there and you’ll be better in no time. Love Laura

I find it strangely calming to rip off bandages.

As a light boxoter myself, it does wear off. For me, it takes about 5 months to noticably wear off. Some people as soon as 3 months. I get the frown line between my eyes done so I don’t end up with angry furrows. Fillers (relastyne, I think its called) last 1 year.

I’m glad the wounds were not infected!!!! As for cosmetic surgery…I have the opinion (not that you asked lol) that, even though I really don’t like the way I look, I’m not messin’ with it. I’d rather let nature take its course and just suffer the consequences and HOPE that time makes me into a nicer-looking old man, eventually. If not, well, there are other things to love about me than my looks, right? RIGHT?! 🙂
