Vote!

I’m sitting in the Wintergarden foodcourt, using the free maccas internet (duh lol).  I worked last night and it was a pretty good shift, really small load to put away.  It was FREEZING outside though!  Such a forceful wind that added to the chill, so I’m glad I got most of my jobs done before I started (which is why I always get to work a half hour early, because I’m by myself, and if it happens to be busy, I don’t get a chance to go outside and do dips and meters).  It’s good not having to go outside anyway and knowing that I’ve already done it, so I can stay inside, other than taking out milkcrates and such when I fill them.  But yeah, freezing last night!  Quite a contrast to a few days ago when I had to take my jacket off walking home because I was so hot!

I went to gym after work – i really needed to, first time in about 4 or 5 days, so yeah, glad I did.  Had a good workout, and caught the bus to Southbank where I used the internet there – unfortunately maccas are a little more clever and have a download limit, so I can’t get the rest of my TV show here 😛  So I’ll have to go back to Southbank at some point and get the rest of it.  I don’t like using up my little limit at home on the huge downloads.  Oh well, gives me something to do anyway.  So yeah, i’m in the foodcourt listening to a group of tradies at the table across from me talk about chicks and tits and using every expletive under the sun haha.

Archer, thanks for terrifying me with that note, I feel like flying over there just to hit you!  Haha.  I am terrified of Mr Abbott becoming our prime minister, and I always joked that if he ever became the PM, I’d move to another country.  Now that the papers are showing a 50/50 chance of it happening, I might just have to do that.  To me he really does seem like another Bjelke-Peterson (or however you spell his name) where you wouldn’t have dared tell anyone you were gay back in his time.  ERGH why people like him exist is beyond me, let alone in parliament.  Oh wait, this is parliament we’re talking about.

Penny Wong doesn’t even stand up for us, and she’s a fucking lesbian herself!  She has to go with the party’s policies or else she’d be out of a job.  This is why I’m voting greens and always vote greens.  I’m no hippee or tree-hugger, but Bob Brown I have a lot of respect for.  They are saying that this election could be the highest amount of Greens votes yet, and Greens votes are a Labor-preference vote, so GOOD.  Works for me!  If the Greens help Labor win the election I only have to worry about a female douchebag as the Prime Minister, rather than a male one. God help us.  I know all of my family will vote Liberal, as they are National supporters.  GOD!  WHY!?

Sorry I’m not trying to turn your vote if you’re Australian.  Tony Abbott could be a good Prime Minister.  But when someone basically copies the policies of his opposition, i don’t have much respect for that.  They promise the world before an election – not that much happens.  How it’s come to be 50/50 is beyond me.  Come on Greens, let Labor over.

If it were back in Howard’s Day, I wouldn’t mind voting liberal, but this guy spells absolute hell to me.

A lot of people are saying it’s an even race.  I don’t see how really.  A lot of people reckon Abbott will get the ‘revenge vote’ for how Gillard kicked out Rudd.  Sure, maybe.  I personally would think most female Australians would vote for the first ever people-elected female Prime Minister.  Right?

I really don’t know politics that well.  In the past I’ve always voted in funny-looking-name-order.  Greens policies appeal to me totally.  Either way we’re gunna have a Prime Minister I’m not too keen on.

Ergh.

Anyway, vote away people!  Hopefully our next PM can kick out the voted-in PM again.  Why not, our country is run by the unions these days right?

I’m voting Greens too. No way no how am I voting for a religious homophobe. I had a bit of a chuckle when I read about how cold it is in QLD. You think it’s cold there? Try Melbourne! I’m fairly certain it was about 4 degrees plus wind and rain when I left work at the wrestling the other night. We can swap if you want 😉 xxx

Ummm…

Greens policies don’t really appeal to me at all, beyond same sex marriage. one of my best friends is a gay guy in the national party. he feels that no party represents his needs as a gay man, so he has to make a call based on other policies. As he is a farmer, he feels he can’t vote green. I feel for Penny Wong. or any gay person in politics. Its easier to make change from the inside, so you can’t force yourself out, because then you have no influence at all. She could go join the greens, but they are very limited in what they can do. Don’t give up on her yet. She’s probably making all sorts of in roads internally that you’ll never know about. I’d vote National, but I’m not keen on voting liberal, and since we only have LIberal Nationals in QLD now, its put me in quite a predicament.

I wish I could get more into this election. Where I live is a solid Labor seat and my one vote would not change anything, regardless of voting Labor, Liberal, Greens or other.

Greens forever. Abbott is a pig, and Penny Wong is a self-loathing queer, which is the worst kind. I will be absolutely outraged if Abbott becomes our prime minister. I don’t understand how any woman with a brain could vote for him. As for Gillard, she fucked over KRudd, and everyone knows she’s sly. I just hope more people vote Greens. It’s the only way the Labor/Liberal monopoly will change!

I barely pay attention to American politics.

consider yourself friended, dear!

I’ll be voting greens (yep living overseas does not make me immune to voting!) moreso out of protest than anything else. I do admire Bob Brown, even if he seems to be the captain of a sinking ship most of the time. I have no respect for labour, and if Abbott wins, then I’ll try and speed up the process to get my British passport! Haha!
