First female PM?

I think I’m back in a Brissy-rut already.  It’s 1:59am, I’m bored at home, just watching Wimbledon really.  I wanted to go to Escape tonight down the Gold Coast, but didn’t really have anyone to go with.  I guess I could’ve just gone by myself, like I do sometimes to clubs here, but in a different city is kinda scary – I’d probably be the one standing there at the bar awkwardly holding my drink, both hoping someone would talk to me but also not wanting anyone to strike up a conversation either.  I suppose being alone, I really wouldn’t mind who I spoke to 🙂

Then again, it’s nice and warm here, and it’s cold outside.  Lockout in only an hour away.  What I loved about Sydney is they had no lockout.  They used to have it, but got rid of it.  If it were that situation here, I’d go out now, but there’s really no point.

So yeah, first night off of three.  It was raining all day today and is meant to be tomorrow as well.  Thank-you Mother Nature, appreciate it.

I was watching Hey Hey It’s Saturday when I saw the cross-over news feed about Kevin Rudd being challenged for the leadership by Julia Gillard.  I saw his press conference.  I am stunned.  I can’t believe how quickly this has happened, all because of some Victorian and NSW MP who turned against him?  I feel sorry for him, and feel he has been completely backstabbed by his own party.

Will find out by midday tomorrow if we have a new Prime Minister I guess!  It will just seem crazy!  I never really had anything against Kevin Rudd.  I think the mining tax is a bit extravagant, but I also realise he has been doing well to recover the debt from the Global Financial Crisis, and that’s a good way to get the budget back into surplus, but he refused to back down and I think maybe the rest of the government was afraid of losing our mining companies to overseas altogether.  He’s had a lot on his plate trying to deal with at once, such as the mines, the internet filter, the schools he was meant to build, the emissions trading scheme.

He’s a Queenslander, just like me.  I feel sorry for the guy.  He’s clearly been betrayed, backstabbed and beaten.

Australia’s first female Prime Minister might be on the cards – wow, could be a big day is history.

It’s sort of the same thing that happened here with our President–it was such a big deal when he got elected–first black President, etc. Now, I’m quite happy that people have moved past that for the most part and are focused more on what kind of a job he’s doing. And here’s a silly question for you–what’s a lockdown?

That’s because Obama’s doing a lousy job. I miss the obvious corruption that George W. Bush displayed because Obama hypnotizes everyone into thinking he’s a humanitarian.

he stepped down and she got the spot, it’s totally messed up! now my fb feed is going nuts with talk about it. I don’t know what to think, i don’t follow it enough. I was just kind of glad i don’t need to go and vote now because i would have forgotten and gotten in trouble (is that terrible? i think it is) OMG watch greys anatomy finale online or something, i didn’t follow the show but i got

totally sucked into it and my jaw was on the floor

Not surprising, but this is the first I heard about the political goings on in Australia. We seldom hear about the rest of the world. Wil

Ugh, I’m so not a politically-minded person. I do hope for a female President of the United States someday soon, though. Quick question….what is a lockout?

What they did to Rudd was low, and exceptionally cruel. That the foreign minister is considering stepping down to let Rudd take his place is just a twist of the knife. ryn: They’re playing at the Jubilee Hotel.
