Tooth Extraction

I have had the WORST 24 hours, I swear.  Not plesant at all.  My tooth sensitivity had been getting worse since I went to the dentist last Tuesday.  Last night it was unbearable.  I had to cancel on three people because i was in so much pain.  I was meant to go to my friend’s divorce party, I was meant to go watch the men’s tennis final at Billy’s place, and I was meant to go out to Fluffy Glam in the valley.  But nooooooo.  This had to fucking happen. 

I felt it in the left side of my mouth, but it was worse than it had been previously.  I was on that many painkillers (Panadol Rapid), that I figured if I took any more to ease the pain, I would end up in the hospital ahving my stomach pumped.  So I had to deal with it as I didn’t want to overdose on panadol.  The pain was too much to bare, and I was awake all night because I couldn’t sleep.  my night consisted of trying to ignore the pain and fall asleep, and getting up when I realised there was no way that was gunna happen, to research on the net to try and deserately find a 24 hour dentist.  I felt so bad about ringing the emergency number, but there was no way I could continue to put up with the pain.  I rang it after much deliberation.  It rang out to a message bank.  Great!  So I had to deal with it.  And of course it was Sunday night with Monday being a public holiday, so nowhere was open anyway!  It’s always the worst timing with me I swear!  GOD!

I’m sitting here typing this with a tissue hanging out of the left side of my mouth.  Somehow I managed to get in to see a dentist today.  I walked around the city this morning desperately hoping somewhere was open, and i took my list of phone numbers I’d written down to see if there was anyone open who could help me.  I didn’t find any in the city who were open, so i rang around.  I was amazed when the one in New Farm said they could get me in at 10:30am.  I had to wait an hour and a half but I was so thankful, and I didn’t have to go to their usual clinic, but moreso some guys house in East Brisbane.  I tohught ‘Ooooo dodgy’ when I found that out, but hey I was desperate.  I got there early and drove there so I could see if it was legitimate, and sure enough there was the plaque out the front saying ‘B. Dental QLD".  So I went for a walk to get a drink of water, and thankfully there was a civic video that sold it, but I had to spent 5 bucks to use their eftpos.  Oh well.  I bought a choccie bar but had no intention of eating it before I went to the dentist.  I went into the dentist and took a seat, filled out a form and explained to the very blokey dentist my situation.  He was an awesome dentist!  The numbing hurt, but nowhere near as bad as my dentist last week.  He couldn’t find a tooth that hurt, so he suggested extracting that wisdom tooth.  I couldn’t believe how fast it went!  He literally extracted my wisdom tooth in like a minute.  All done, and my pain seems to be gone.  He said to keep an eye on it because there is a possibilty it could be the molar in front of that, and if so to give him a buzz.  $300 more later, but thank god I’m out of pain, at least temporarily, hopefully permanently!  it was an extra $40 because of the public holiday.  Now I’ve just gotta wait for the bleeding to stop so I can get back to my normal life.  Goddamn i wish i didn’t have to go to work tomorrow.  I don’t get a three day weekend like everyone else – it sucks.  My entire weekend was spent in pain, and I didn’t get to do any of the fun things I had planned.  I wonder how it’s gunna feel eating now with one of my wisdom teeth gone.

I gotta go spit more blood out.  Wish me luck I’m all good now 🙂
