The sun was out, the skies were blue
God Bless the American Housewife – SheDaisy
Look at me, I’m gorgeous in my housecoat with my coffee cup
I bend to get the paper, every neighbor’s tryin’ to check me out
Look at me, I’m lovely as I wave beside my Minivan
Look at how my diamonds seem to sparkle on the garbage can
God bless the American housewife
(How she does it all I’ll never know)
God bless the American housewife
(She could use a miracle for sure)
God bless the American housewife
(Cleanin’ up the world for you and me)
God bless the American housewife
(Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah)
Look at how my children play Commando in the Cul-de-sac
Look at how my husband has survived another heart attack
Look at all the other mothers envious of all my things
Have to call the plummer ’cause my daughter flushed my wedding ring
God bless the American housewife
(How she does it all I’ll never know)
God bless the American housewife
(She could use a miracle for sure)
God bless the American housewife
(Cleanin’ up the world for you and me)
God bless the American housewife
(Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah)
Look at me, I’m beautiful and glamorous in rubber gloves
Look how my Tiara can be bent back to the shape it was
I can do the laundry and make dinner while I’m on the phone
Look at me, I’m sexy as the devil when I mow the lawn
God bless the American housewife
(How she does it all I’ll never know)
God bless the American housewife
(She could use a miracle for sure)
God bless the American housewife
(Cleanin’ up the world for you and me)
God bless the American housewife
Oh, oh, God bless the American housewife
Now this is more like living close to the city – the sound of sirens blarring in the background. Today was a beautiful day! The sun was out, and the sky was blue. it was quite a change from all the wonderful rain we’ve been getting, and I used it to my full advantage!
I sunbaked! Yep, first thing this morning when I got out of bed and went online and left the house at about 10am, I went to Southbank with my gym bag. i was gunna go later on but wanted to sunbake while I could. I had to meet my mate Lindsay for lunch – well i initiated it, asked him if he wanted to and he said sure, prob around 1pm, so I had about 45 minutes to kill. It sucks I couldn’t stay longer cos I was really enjoying the layout I had set out. Towel on the ground, my shirt over my eyes to block the sunlight, smothered myself in sunscreen, my IRiver and the radio going in my ears. It was nice! Only thing that sucks is they are still doing maintenace on all the artificial beaches there so there were no hot boys to perve on, but i didn’t mind. I enjoyed the warmth and the relaxation, and I so wanna do it again as soon as i can, and time myself more wisely.
I met up with my mate and we had a good laugh and a gossip about what’s been going on. it was fun, and then I walked him back to his workplace, and I kept walking to the valley. There weren’t that many people there again, which was great, but it was about mid-afternoon when I got there, and I wantedto try to get some more tanning in before the sun went down, and I left there at about 4:15pm i think and walked to Southbank, and I kept telling myself I might make it, but i was doubting it, and I told myself I’d give it a go, and at least i can say I did that. So I got there and the sun was just on the horizon, but because of all the trees at Southbank there werent many spots and ones that were were faded light. i ended up just sitting on the river ledge, where the last bit of sunlight remained. i figured ‘well i came here for this might as well get 1 minute or so in haha’. And it was amazing, I looked over the ledge, and looking right up at me from the garden ledge before the river begins was this lizard. It was looking right at me. I wondered to myself how the hell it got down there in the first place, unless someone had thrown it down there or it made its way there from travelling a long way round, but it was cute. i took photos of it, but would you beleive I just scanned my room for my God-damn camera cable and I can’t find it! Grrrrr. Lot of good that is – wanna gunna show you a photo! I’ll have to keep looking over the next few days because it’s frustrating me that i can’t find it right now.
After I sat there for a while listening to my IRiver, I got up and walked backto the city to get my few groceries i needed. I had such a wonderful relaxing day, yet I still felt so busy. I really hope more of my days off can be like this one, with my getting stuff done and the company of a good friend.
i really don’t wanna go backto work tomorrow for another week. It kinda ruins the point of having had such a fun day off, doesn’t it? Oh well, gotta live don’t ya. I had two different girls ask me (one in the mall, another on a street further up) if I was looking for full-time work. I didn’t bother to ask what it was, just politely said no and kept walking, but it made me wonder why they were asking people. Maybe it’s a different approach to ‘would you like to held the homeless?’ or ‘World Vision’ or whatever charity they’re collecting for. It was interesting though and it’s still got me a bit confused. I wonder what job it was. i was kicking myself for not asking, but then I was glad cos it woulda been the ‘haha-got-you-now-you-have-to-talk-to-me’ part of the plan to sucker people in, so I’m not really fussed. Intrigued though.
This song has been stuck in my friggin head for like 3 days now!
So another work week is ahead of me. I’m gradually getting back on track I think after those damn car repairs. I’m just looking forward to partying next weekend already!
Yeah – I’d be suspicious. If I was really bored and not in a hurry I’d talk to them and see what they wanted (ditching them as soon as they springed the scam). Watch out for melanomas! 🙂 Waiting for Hewitt’s match result to appear in google news…

I couldn’t believe… it was 25 in Melbourne, and 29 in Mildura (where I come from) today! Can’t wait for summer, though I get so cold easily, so tanning wasn’t on the cards for me today 😛
