I’m not gunna promise you a starry sky
Song For Lovers – Liberty X
The drumbeats go like this
Yo, yo
Now once again, my friend it’s the Reverend
The first platinum status rap president
And from the coast to California to the show the main,
Got an east coast sound and my beats go bang
My own black crown with my snickers got my name
And I’m back yo, with my collar and cape
Like a superhero armed with an old school tape
It’s the Rev, yo, you gots to believe
[Liberty X]
There’s a song for lovers you can hear all the time
But you’re like no other to me
So I’m not gonna promise you a starry sky
You just need to believe
(Just need to believe)
[Joseph]
I take time for my rhyme and I climb but don’t reach
Hustling when we rustle and grime and rock beats
And this is it what? Another hit for the streets
I got love for my people from queens to overseas
Step into the room and then ‘boom’ the horns scream
Rev’s coming well and regal, I’ve got dreams
Just like Martin Luther the King I might teach
Rock a collar to the party after party going reach
[Liberty X]
There’s a song for lovers you can hear all the time
(All the time)
But you’re like no other to me
(Like no other, like no other)
So I’m not gonna promise you a starry sky
You just need to believe
(You just need to believe)
There’s a song for lovers
But you’re like no other
(Rev’s coming well and regal, I’ve got dreams
(Step into the room and then ‘boom’ the horns scream)
There’s a song for lovers
But you’re like no other to me
You just need to believe
(I’ll be your friend)
If you say you love me
(I won’t let you down)
If you say you really care
(Hold out your hands)
If you say you really want me
(I will be there)
I promise I’ll be there, oh, oh
I promise
I promise
And then I promise
I’ll be there
There’s a song for lovers you can hear all the time
(All, yeah)
But you’re like no other to me
(Like no oither, like no other)
So I’m not gonna promise you a starry sky
(Nothing but a starry sky)
You just need to believe
There’s a song for lovers you can hear all the time
But you’re like no other to me
(Other to me)
(Like no other, like no other)
So I’m not gonna promise you a starry sky
You just need to believe
(Just need to believe)
(You just need to believe)
[Joseph]
Faith is the substance of things hoped for
(You just need to believe)
The evidence of things not seen
(You just need to believe)
Your faith has made you whole
(Yeah)
Since I can’t actually FIND the song lyrics anywhere on the net for EITHER of two of my favourite songs at the moment, I’m having to settle for this one. It comes on at work all the time and thought of it. Apparently this band played at the Wickham hotel a few years back or so. Good ol Liberty X. Sooo gay haha.
Well I’ve finally finished work for another week, and what a relief it is. There is a SHITLOAD of work to do there from what was left over when I left tonight, but NOT MY PROBLEM. Load only rocked up around 9:45pm and of course it’s over 1000 cartons, then we got 3 or 4 pallets of milk in at around 11, so yeah our coldroom is rather choccers! Like I said, not my problem, and my manager really needs to rethink his Friday night roster especially, cos the workload FAR outweighs the 2 staff we have to fill it all. We got three pallets done, which is a damn good effort if I dont say so myself. And I broke down 2 deli pallets at the back dock also. Fridays are always soo busy, and also happens to be the day of the week where checkouts NEVER have anyone rostered on. Grrr. So of course I’m helping them out as well, AND getting a complete face-up done of the department. You know what, I’m pretty fucking proud of myself. I might not get anyone tell me that often, so I’ll tell myself it, and however much work they have to do in the morning is their problem! I don’t even know who’s on. It’s not any of the managers I know that, cos we’re all having the weekend off apparently, so I kinda feel for a poor casual who gets to open those coldroom doors in the morning. There’s another 3 or 4 pallets of Pauls milk coming they’ll have to fit in there yet! Hahaha good luck. I saw a few new lines that I ordered, and filled tonight, but I guess the rest were still on the load in the coldroom. One sounded interesting – Blackforest Yoghurt and banana honey yoghurt.. Mmmm, I like taking notice of the new products that are coming out, and there will be heaps more soon, just dunno what. Hopefully something decent.
So it’s 2:50am and too late to try and go out and make lock-down at 3am. I probably would have if Bryn wasn’t stressing about not knowing how to use a computer and he didn’t have one, and how this hand-written letter he’d sat down and written for "five hours" (so he claims) wouldn’t be accepted because it was hand-written, not typed. Bryn is 75. He’s old fashioned. He wouldn’t even know how to turn ON a computer (although he is looking into buying a laptop for his new job he’s meant to be starting soon – go figure), so he was annoyed that whoever he was trying to give this letter to wouldn’t take it. Of course, it had quite a few spelling mistakes and his writing is sorta messy, but you can interpret what it says. So he apparently spent all morning looking for places that would do it for him, and I suggested the library would, but he reckons they don’t do it. Bullshit haha. But then my other housemate reckons they won’t do it anymore. What? First I’ve heard of that. So then he asked me if I knew how to do it. I hesitated before saying yes. It’s not hard to type up a letter from something that’s written down. He said he’d pay me for it, like $20, and I said yeh that’s cool, but I had to get going to work. So that’s why it’s like 2:50am now – cos I just finished typing it up for him. Some of it I wouldn’t make out because Bryn insists on not using a full stop or any punctuation whatsoever in his writing, I swear! So I typed up what I could make out, added a bit of punctuation and fixed the spelling mistakes. I made the font bigger so it
covered the amount of pages he wanted, and I wrote a note saying I hope it’s right and stuck it with the written copy on the kitchen table. Well, I did my best is all I can say, but I was kinda annoyed this morning that after my weekend at work was over, I’d have to come home and type up a letter. I got over myself though, cos it really wasn’t that hard.
I had KFC for dinner. Seems to be my Friday night thing cos it’s open til 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. I ordered and as I drove around the other side to pick up my meal, there was a group of aorund 30 guys all sitting in the carpark right outside my left window, probably aged anywhere between like 16 and 20. Quite a few were hot and dressed well, so whether they were headed out or having a group orgy in the carpark, who knows. I kinda felt intimidated having to sit there in the drive-thru waiting for my meal with all these guys right outside my window. Luckily all the doors were locked, although none of them tried anything. I get too paranoid. Beats me why they’d choose the Hungry Jacks carpark for a group meeting. It was as though one or two of them were explaining stuff and the others were sitting on the drive-thru railing watching. Weird. Should got out and asked, so they could all attack the fag in the woolies uniform haha. Damn breeders.
So I haven’t really been up to much other than that. I’ve got a weekend free to do stuff, I just dunno what. One of my workmates is clubbing tomorrow night, but I don’t know where. I’m thinking I should have a quiet one because next weekend will be rather eventful, and saving my money seems like a good idea. I’ll probably do my usual weekend-where-i’m-bored thing and catch a bus to the city and window-shop and catch up for coffee with a friend when he finishes work, provided he wants to. He must be getting sick of me waiting for him outside his work haha. At least hanging out with your friends is one free thing left in this world.
I’m rather excited about big gay day next weekend. Apparently Camilla and Dave from Big Brother are hosting the event. Dave’s one of my heroes for having the guts to come out on national tv, and he grew up on a farm outside Goondiwindi,. not too far from where I used to live, so we’re both gay farm-boys, and I relate to him in that way. I doubt I’ll be able to speak to the guy on the day, but seeing him up on stage will be exciting enough. I am so bringing my camera and taking photos of everything. I’m a member of SameSame so maybe I can upload some pics to their site for the other members to see, which would make me feel good, knowing I’ve contributed.
Next weekend is also my ex-managers fare-well, at a hotel on the southside. He and his wife are hilarious, so I’m looking forward to that night. I’m not sure where he’s going or what he’s doing, but I wish him the best of luck.
So I feel rather tired now. Done so much stuff. I just fed myself some Rhubarb Custard yoghurt and an orange juice – as if the KFC wasn’t enough. Beats me how the hell I stay so thin with all the shit that goes into my body 🙂
Have a fantastic weekend guys, and don’t get as bored as I probably will!
David’s cute. 🙂
