Sydney!

Everything’s been going so fast!  I dunno what to write and what not to write.  Big deal is I don’t really feel like writing, but the more I put it off, the more I’m gunna forget.

The flight to Sydney was a rather pleasant flight, and the Pilot landed the plane SO smoothly (unlike some of the one’s I’ve had before LOL) – I barely even noticed.  Was served breakfast on the flight, which was bacon, eggs, juice, a muffin (tee hee), tea and coffee.  It’s why I like Qantas over the others.

Sydney wasn’t at all like I expected when I arrived there.  I caught a taxi to the hotel from the airport.  I’d arrived about 2 hours early for check-in, so kinda wandered around the block with my heavy suitcase – I looked so outta place and knew it – oh well.  I decided to check in about half an hour early, cos sometimes the rooms are freed up earlier, and I was in luck – I could go straight in.  The guy at the front counter was very polite – treated a tenant/customer with the utmost respect.  It just makes your stay so much better.  The room was small, like I expected, and I was a bit skeptikal about it to begin with, but after a while I realised it was actually quite good.  He’d given me a complimentary bottle of Champayne on arrival, even though I don’t drink Champers – fucking hate the stuff.  I brought it home with me back to Brisbane though hehe – I’m really learning you can bring lots of stuff on flights I didn’t think you could before.  Maybe cos it was this big bad scary thing growing up.  I’m still like that when I think about the international flights, like with customs and stuff – I have no idea how all hat works.  At least domestic flights, all it is is security check points and explosive tests (which I frequently seem to get ‘randomly’ chosen to participate in).  Cos I look like SUCH a terrorist.

Anyway, what I mean by Sydney not looking how I thought, was that since I’d gotten there early, I had a few hours to kill until sunset.  I had NO idea where I was going, so of course not hopelessly lost, wandering artound all these houses that looked like they belonged in London somewhere amongst the villages.  That’s what it looked like!  I finally realised this couldn’t be all to Sydney, and I found my way back, and right in the street NEXT to where I was staying was the main street with skyscrapers and tall buildings in the distance.  DUH!!  I walked there and was AMAZED at how HUGE Sydney’s city is compared to ours.  I could’ve easily got lost there, and, guess what, I did!  Somehow I managed to not only get lost in the city, but get lost in an outer suburb nowhere NEAR the city.  Luckily this lovely lady gave me directions back to where I could find my suburb i was staying in, even tohugh I was telling her the wrong suburb name LOL.  Oooo boy – this is why I shouldn’t travel alone.  Hehe.  I found my way back home before dark and messaged my friend Ryan that I was in Sydney.  I had a shower and turned the aircon on and slept naked beneathe the sheet – Ooooooo so free I felt – all to myself!  YAY…

The next day was much better.  I managed to get lost again, but not as bad and I made sure to take note of the street signs I needed to remember, and by doing so, I managed to figure it all out.  I went for a short walk along part of Oxford Street (every gay man has to do that i figured lol) and around the city.  I checked out so many different stores, and my feet were killing me by the end of the day!  I can’t believe the Woolworths there is on 6 levels, and the DJ’s in on 9 levels across two blocks.  Jesus.

Ryan picked me up that night from outside my hotel, and he took me on a whirlwind night tour of Sydney!  It was SOOOO awesome, and Soooo nice of him!!!  He has a BMW convertible, so we were whisking away through traffic and he even took me up and over the harbour bridge and to areas where I could get some awesome photos.  he really made my trip there as a tourist so much better!  He took me up to his apartment, which is on the very TOP floor of a highrise (yes, this guy is loaded you probably guessed) and I got some awesome photos from up there.  His pet dog is soo cute, but it was locked outside cos it had been naughty hehe.  We went up onto the roof and Ryan took some shots of me in front of the city and the harbour bridge, but I dunno if they turned out cos my camera is a bitch when it gets too dark, no matter what function you really use.  Awesome every other time though.  Ryan said some turned out so we’ll see.  Those ones are still on my camera.  My photo enties will be in future references – trust me I took like 300 or something in Perth alone, and heaps more in Sydney cos on my last day there I went to Bondi Beach.  I just had to.  It’s pretty cool!  And it was packed as well, but I figure that’s cos it’s school holidays still maybe?  Oh well, quite a few hot guys anyway, and we know that’s all that matters 😀  I wandered around in the water for a bit.   It amazed me how in the space of 2 days, I had set foot in the Indian Ocean AND the Pacific Ocean.  On the bus on the way back to Darlinghurst, I stopped in at the Westfield there cos Ryan said to check it out cos it’s huge, which it was.  I checked out a lot of shops there and went to this place on the top level and had my eyebrows waxed and my eyelashes tinted.  I SAID I was gunna do it and I DID!!  Yay!  A nice Japanese lady did it all for me.  I look hot now 🙂  After that I caught the same bus number back home and got off on Oxford Street so I walk walk along a little more of it.  I went into the Darlinghurst book shop, which is an entire store, mostly books, magazines, DVD’s etc of gay stock.  MY KINDA STORE!  I was looking for a particular book, which they didn’t have cos I think it’s out of print, but i was looking at quite a few things.  I only settled on a, ahem, rather hot 16 month Calender – it’s proudly hanging here in my room 🙂

So yeah, I’m home now, back in my hometown.  The flight back seemed SO short after a flight to Perth and back!  They even served us breakfast pretty much as soon as the plane was in the air.  It only takes an hour.  i guess they’d wanna serve breakfast considering the cost of the flight.  I worked out I’d spent over $800 on flights alone during my trips, but I had a lotta fun.  I really wish I didn’t have to leave Perth.  I bawled my eyes out when my best friend gave me this gorgeous photo.

I trained, walked and taxi’d home from the airport.  I had a plan but it kinda didn’t work – shoulda just taxi’d the whole way.  I was going to join the gym at Chermside, but realised I co

uldn’t really make my way up there lugging all the luggage I’ve had, but I really wanna do it.  I have a lack of motivation to do so, but if I pay money t join the fucking thing, it might make me actually get up off my ass and finally join.  I really want to for my health if anything – gotta stop eating so much shit too.  Bryn fed me that much damn alcohol tonight at the Club – he doesn’t realise I can’t down as much alcohol as he can!

He didn’t recognise me when I arrived home, cos of my haircut and eyebrows and lashes, not that they are that different.  My hair’s way shorter though.  Still trying to decide if I wanna re-dye it – I’m back to my original colour at the moment.  The dog recognised me though – he nearly knocked me over with excitement I was finally home haha.

I’d put up photos but I think my typos are bad enough.  I pretty much haven’t slept in 2 days 🙂  So it’s time for me to hit the hay!  I went to dinner with Bryn tonight, and it was rather good – a place I’d never been to, all you can eat for $25.  Tomorrow I’ve been invited to a BBQ and Wet & Wild – all depends if I get up on time!

My flight was very early this morning, and I’d booked a silver service taxi (Ryan’s suggestion) for 4am.  Ryan wanted me to stay over the weekend so he could show me around more, but I think i was getting a little homesick, and didn’t wanna stray away from my three-day-only-holiday in Sydney.  Now that I know what it’s like, I can stauy longer next time.  I don’t think I slept a wink last night.  I always get like that when I know something important or exciting is on the following day – I won’t be able to sleep.  So I got up, showered away my sleepiness and caught my taxi to the airport.  I had the most awesome taxi driver – he was Indian or West Indian (arent they all?) and was asking me if I was heading home or still travelling and just a very polite conversationalist.  He funnily pointed out the genders of all the hookers standiung against the poles on William Street as we passed ("Female, Female, Female, Male, Female, Male, Female, Female…".  Gee, do they get much business at 4am?  Cos there were a LOT of them, wearing the callic short shorts and white fake-fur jacket to keep them warm.

Sounds like an amazing trip. I look forward to doing similar in the future. Think carefully before signing up for the gym and ask what the termination fee is because they never let you sign up for short amounts of time. I signed up for 20 months and even though I’ve been enjoying it I’m still like ‘uh oh!’ Nice of Ryan to show you a good time!

Aw sounds like so much fun! Hahah @ the hooker talk, that is funny, and you’re so right about taxi drivers, there are so many different nationalities of drivers, and the majority of them are funny as hell- if not just for the sake that when your drunk their accent sounds awesome ;p

hi again… Your trip sounded cool!!! xxx

I’m glad you’re home safe and sound!!! Perth isn’t going to be the same without you. I’m spewing we didn’t get our eyebrows done together. I *so* need mine done, but everytime I would go I’d remember we were getting them done together. I’ll have to wait until I get paid on Tuesday…
