The One with the Annoying People
I feel another one of those brain releases is in order. Perhaps it will help my two-day headache marathon.
I guess I will begin with work since most days start there. There have always been some things that bother me more than others. Mostly little things, but for some reason I just can’t get over. For example, I take lunch at noon every day. I stay in the office every day. Most people know that the noon hour is the lunch hour. Being the ignorant assholes they are they choose that time to come and get things like credit cards and petty cash and my lunch is interrupted. It’s not like they have to do this stuff on their lunch hour. And when I say hour, I really mean half an hour because we get paid for our lunch (a rather luxurious benefit). I know I shouldn’t care that much and I shouldn’t get angry, but it just seems so inconsiderate when I know for a fact they don’t go and do the shopping right away.
Another annoying thing is when people run to six different offices when I am away from my desk and they need something. It’s always, “Heather’s not in her office.” Yeah, I went to the bathroom, sorry for needing to pee once in an eight hour day.
Lately it has been some very demanding people. I am not talking authority figures. I am talking pissy little admin assistants who demand that I track someone down to bring them their check. Fuck off. Seriously, fuck right the fuck off. I don’t work for you, I work with you and you don’t get to treat me that way. I have always just smiled and vented later, but lately I have been putting on my snark crown and being very curt and direct. They don’t even ask, they just demand it. Yeah, I am not jumping to do anything for anyone other than those who are kind and above me.
Other than that kind of stuff, work has been pretty smooth sailing. I do my stuff, then I breathe and do it all over again.
My personal life has been a bit frustrating. I had some huge medical bills come in this month and so I have been moving money that I don’t really have available around to pay them. I got hit with another one from fucking March the other night that I am currently trying to fix. In other words, I am fighting like hell with a billing agency for dropping the ball ten months ago. Good times.
One bright side is that hockey has returned and I have watched some 50+ hours since Saturday. It’s been a bit insane, but a lot of fun. If you follow me on twitter you will know just how much fun I am having.
I sort of dropped the ball on school once the holidays hit and am a full month plus behind schedule. I just finished a “course” and am on to the next starting probably Saturday. I think this is probably one of the most in depth one and hopefully one of the more exciting ones. I did design a flyer back in December that was a graded project and received rave reviews on it. I liked it, but I wish I would have had a bit more information. Still I received top marks, so it’s all still good.
I’ve had a few friends frustrations. I have one “friend” who has to be the center of attention no matter what. I can’t count the number of times I have caught her in a lie, just so she seems more special. It’s one thing to do it when your ten, it’s a completely different thing to do it when you are thirty! Trying to find a way to just nod my head and smile and not just give into the whole, “oh poor you” thing.
The family is good. Mom is enjoying semi-retirement and can’t wait until full retirement in five months. Sister is doing well. Brother in law is working a ton of long and odd hours, but is well compensated and the nephews are growing up way too fast. They will be here in early April again. They come when the kids are on spring break which always falls at the worst time of the month work-wise for me. But with a new system we are implementing, it might actually work out pretty good. Just need to save up my time.
I’ve spent way more money than I should have on things I really don’t need. I have spent a fortune on makeup and in the end didn’t get all the things I really wanted. I finally settled on my planner binder though after two months of research. I went with my old friend Franklin Covey. I waited long enough I got it on sale too. It should be here maybe by Saturday. That will be fun to play with over the weekend, getting it all set up.
I need to do some major cleaning this weekend as well. Things are just piling up and I really don’t care for my desk setup. I want to redo things a bit and rearrange my living room to make better use of space and find a desk setup I can live with.
So that is my release/dump/rant/whatever. The bright lining is it is Thursday and tomorrow should be a nice, quiet work day with a nice Pens game to look forward to.
The only time someone NEEDS you is when you have to pee, or in my case, the only time something happens is when I’m NOT looking *sigh* Never fails

RYN: No, no, it’s good! At least I know I’m not alone lol You’re right, no one ever told me about all the crap you deal with as a grown up. I wouldn’t have done it otherwise!
